This isn't new, and it certainly doesn't just apply to the Ford GT.

In fact, I believe it applies to just about every single car in the game. ;)

I wouldn't want to give it that much. i would though like to give it close too its Hennessy GT version of around 1000 HP. I'm just saying that the GT is able to have extreme amounts of power in real life yet we are only able to give it 882 HP in game. and how isn't it possible?

If your going to be disappointed with any car in the game, it needs to be the small block chevy cars. In real life, the small block Chevrolet engine is one of the easiest and cheapest modifiable engines in the world. Of any car that shouldn't have a limit, it is the sbc. I appreciate your thought on the Ford GT, but come, let's be real, how many 1000 hp Ford GTs have you seen compared to 1000 hp sbc engines. Also when you go to a machine shop for engine work, you don't buy engine upgrade 1,2,3 or ecu chips for classic cars. If anything is unreal, besides the physics in the game, it is the whole general upgrading system.

Ill agree with you there. All it takes is a google search of 1900 HP and the top 3 results are the GT, ZR1, and GT-R. I am more annoyed with the fact that there is no dual charged option. Dual charged I mean adding a supercharger and turbocharger at the same time on cars that it has been proven on it real life. I would juat like to see more realistic tuning options instead of the current one in which its predesignated what we can put on a car.

Once we get edelbrock heads, comp cams, Art Morrison Chassis, better grip physics, and dual charging as you have mentioned it will be a real driving simulator. As of now, it is just a super fun game. Perhaps in gt6 (released in the year 2032) we won't have to deal with hp limits, lame grip physics, and we'll be able to customize our cars beyond recognion. Until then, its either this or Forza. I prefer this. :)

I prefer this as well as i own only a PS3( unless you count the wifes Wii). Like i said the more realistic the tuning capabilities the better.

I have had an issue with this for awhile. As a Ford GT fan i have been severely disappointed by the amount of horsepower the GT has fully tuned in the game compared to the real life counterpart. In game tuning it produces a nice 882 HP whereas in real life a highly modified GT has produced 1900 HP (see link). I mean seriously what gives?

So then would you like engine blows and actual, "true" mechanical damage to happen as well? You do know that if you run a 1900hp car for that long, especially during a longer race, the engine will blow right?

Well duh. As someone earlier said it would be for drag racing. And blown engines, transmissions are all a part of racing and for GT to retain its claim of the real driving sim it needs to include these types of tuning and problems caused by over tuning in the game.

this is one of those things where you just gotta live with. In real life you can literally do anything. With enough money you could turn it into a plane if you wanted to. For sake of consistency they have to make all the parts the same and try to keep it fairish

1900hp? really? The real life Ford GT made for drag racing? Most likely not. And no one would be able to control that on a road course. 1000hp is reasonable but even that is extreme.

Check out the links i put in the first post. And it seems funny that you say 1000 hp is extreme but theres the veyron and the vipers fully modded but those are all acceptable.

and veyron was made for top speed, it's sole purpose of being built. A viper street version doesnt have near that amount of power for 2 reasons. One it would be a gas guzzler, two no one would really drive it. They werent meant to corner, so yes 1000hp is extreme to most people. Not trying to argue but 80% of the world probably couldn't handle a high powered viper on a road course. The other 20% being pro racers.

I see 2000+ hp as kind of to extreme because of the torque that comes with it. And ill agree with your Viper comments as the Viper has no aids at all.

99%/1% ;)

BTW, there's a 2000HP street driven Viper, it's been around for over half a decade now.

Yeah CSL made the best point on here. This isn't news in the slightest there are plenty of cars that aren't given the best potential on GT games. Hence why many people are calling for more parts in the game and more open customization in the performance area.

I agree, not only do I want/would like to see have more HP gain options. I would like to see tire pressure, caster, individual for all 4 tires, also something similar too a tire heat temperature, where it would show inner, middle and outer tire temperature. It's the only reasons I find my self going back to SHIFT 2.

What~? My 992 HP '02 Viper GTS can nearly out handle and out run anything it's up against. And shes at home on the Nurburgring. All you really have to have is the right setup. And yes, it' real life counterpart is not meant to handle, as it's frame was designed like that of a muscle car rather than a light weight hi-tech space-age super car tube frame of modern times. But the Viper was never really meant to be a super car per-say. It is more of a super performance sports car, just as the Corvette is now.
