um, i'm not to sure what the mk3 GT40 is. If it's that light blue & red race version, you win that in one of the MR races. The normal GT40 is found in the Ford special car lot.

As skynyrd said, it's a body-only "car". that means you can't actually drive a Mark III GT40. However, you can use a GameShark to lay that body over an existing car. Suffice to say, I made one on top of a Ford GT40 Race Car.

A good description of the car would be: Identical to the '69 GT40 Race Car, but with a black trunk/boot. Otherwise, it's identical in color and body shape.

I can give you a DexDrive upload of that "hybrid" if you wish; if someone doesn't beat me to it...

MEGA BUMP MODE

Can anybody post a pic of the hidden GT40 Mk III? or tell me where to find them? Pupik? Anyone? I'm doing research and am trying to figure out what GT40s are in GT2.

So far, my opinion is the GT40 road car (the one we buy) is an Mk 1. So is the Gulf racing car, even tho its year is listed as a '69.

Now, a '69 should be an Mk IV, since Mk IV race cars were made from '67 to '69. But if you compare the body style of the Gulf car in our game to an actual Mk IV, it's obvious the Gulf car has a shorter, less aerodynamic, and less sleek Mk 1 body style. Perhaps, since some teams still raced Mk 1s in '69, PD felt justified in calling this Gulf car a '69, even tho it has an earlier body style.

Any opinions?

And as for where to find the MkIII's, need a Gameshark. It's only accessible through a code there.

wow thanks guys! 👍 Certainly has elements found on a Mk III

Unfortunately, this is yet another PD mistake. There never was an Mk III racing car...Mk III was a road car only, and didn't sell very many copies. But so far as the body goes, it does look like the actual features on it (other than the racing decals) could be relevant.

The textures look messed up. The obviously had the idea, and then they just dropped it, but left it on the disk like so many other things.

Yup. Me being the obsessive guy that I am, I actually signed up at www.gt40s.com yesterday to talk to the pros. Turns out only seven Mk IIIs were made; none of them with racing schemes. :indiff: Which doesn't surprise me PD screwed up again.
