The 1968 Ford Mustang GT has become one of my favorite Mustangs of all time and I particularly always loved the 428 Cobra Jet version.

I mean, I could have suggested the 390 V8 version, but I honestly preferred the Cobra Jet model.

It's because he knows (and to be fair everybody else knows) that he would never post anywhere else. He'd spend all his time in those threads.
Basically, he would be stuck posting images of Mustangs and gawking at them forever right.

Because I couldn't give a crap about GT anymore so I don't bother checking this part of the forum.

Also, actual crank horsepower is 410 according to this dyno:

Note the date is 1970 but no changes were made to the engine in those 2 years.

That doesn't surprise me, GT has fell to sub-par in many areas within the recent years. I still play Gran Turismo just because I really only care if the game has decent driving physics or a car selection that keeps me entertained. Anything else is more of a bonus.

Anyway, so that's the real power figure; not bad at all, it's close the the hp rating of a 2013 Mustang GT.

I do from time to time, but it's rare anymore.

Yes, that's the actual crank figure for the 428 CJ/SCJ engine. There are several videos for other engines like that as well, such as the 429 SCJ which pumped out 494 crank horsepower and 503 lb-ft of torque. Wheel horsepower changed depending on the dyno used and car it was installed in. Chassis dyno's are notoriously unreliable. Hot Rod magazine did a Boss 351 build to factory specs and on the crank dyno she pumped out 383 horsepower.

In case you didn't know, the 352, 360 (truck only engine), 390, 427 and 428 are all the same engine blocks and the 390/428 share a lot of the same top end parts such as the intake, heads and camshaft. The 390 was in the car Steve McQueen used.

Also this car had an optional 3 speed automatic.

I play GT because it has basically led me down the path of life I am on now. I plan to enter GT Academy, win, and fulfill my life-long dream of being a race driver.

Damn you Kazunori Yamauchi!
