Ford to make a sequal to the GT-40 !

Ford have anounced that they will be making a car that will better the GT-40...

The new ... Ford GT-40 ... confused ? ... you will be.

The brand new Ford GT-40 will be the exact same car except its 4 inches higher and 6 inches longer.

It will be like they took the old plans, put it in the photocopier, put it on 110% and hit print.

It'll be full of new techy stuff... like a remote controled fuel filler cap !

If I had the money I'd love to get one hehe... paint it in the Golf GT style as in GT3.

This is vey old news, anyone who likes and pays attention to the happenings in the REAL car world knew about this about exactly one year ago. And second of all, saying that it is an exact copy is the farthest thing from the truth. The old one had carburetors and was an OHV engine whereas the new one will have Fords 5.4L DOHC engine with a supercharger, not to mention that the suspension will most likely be completely different in everyway etc etc. Plus a different tranny and WAY to many things to list that you wouldn't even be able to begin to comprehend. The body is even quite different because it has sharp angles where the old one had curves

WHAT!? It was originally named the GT-40 because its roof was exactly 40 inches high. I know the new one will be 43.5 inches high, because Car and Driver joked that it wouldnt be called the GT-43.5, if it is called the GT-50 that would mean it is 50 inches high??? Or are you just assuming that it will be called the GT-50 because 50 comes after 40 and this new one came after the old one?

I am very sorry, and I dont think anyone should discredit what someone says like I am about to do, but I KNOW that it is called the GT-40, unless it might go by another name in whatever county you live, but I doubt that.

It WILL not be called the GT-50.

And it IS NOT the exact same as the original in any way. Look at those pictures, you can see the fuel injected supercharged motor. a 5.4L

the new gt-40 looks a lot better than the viper and z-06 but it only puts out 500hp pretty wimpy for a supercharged 5.4 litre v8

and a copy machine actually coppies things slightly bigger than the origional when set on 100%, thaught youed like to know that.

The GT90 was a concept and a hunk of crap all combined. I wonder if it was 90 inches high?

Id rather have a GT40 over a vette or a viper, it has more heratige than a viper and vettes are just common (well from an american perspective)

In its day the GT40 won Lemans several times, the viper may have achived a win in its class but never an overall win (1st place) mind you motorsport has changed since the late 60`s I suppose.

Gotta love that GT40 it was built after the unsuccesful bid by Ford to take over Ferrari

So ford decided "you won't let us have Ferrari ..We will just have to build our own car to beat you".that is not a quote BTW just my interpretation of things

Although I still think the GT40 is an amazing car, although I prefer the old design to the new one. Some of the subtle changes I dont like, the rear lights look kinda funny to me.

I wish I still had the Clarkson video, with the GT40 in it. It had allot of information on the car and he compared it to modern cars of a simmilar spec (diablo, XJ220 etc)and it compared pretty well.

Although Clarkson had to drive a special version that had a Bump in the roof for tall people. Imagine that, you cant drive a car because youre too tall
