Hopefully Subaru will give those of us in the USA a chance at this one...

I'd sooner like to see an XV STI than a Forester STI... though a Forester STI would be nice.

The current Forester XT is no slouch however... and needs more power less than it needs a better sorted suspension to cope with the power that's already there.

Well that's just great.

Because EPA and CAFE, I suppose?

Or maybe because 'murica?

I'm suspecting slow sales and a market that just really isn't set up for sport sedans. Although they were all the rage in the mid 2000s, everything fell off with the economy, and the only thing you'll get close to that is a stripped out Mazda6 with a stick. So, Subaru is content chasing after the bread-and-butter Accord, Camry and Sonata. Which strangely enough, after copying the previous generation Legacy's styling, Hyundai has fallen completely flat with their new model.

The Forester tS STI is released in Japan. Only 300 will be a made. Prices start from 4,350,000 yen ($36,800). It will be powered by the most powerful version of the 2.0-liter turbocharged Boxer engine available in Japan, which produces 280PS (276hp) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque.

I find it funny how you can't see a single person looking at it.

Ever since they changed the Design from a lifted Car to a Soccer Mum Crossover, I've completely lost any respect for it.

Why is Subaru designing interiors that look like they came from the year 2000? The design is awful. Come to think of it, the exterior design is awful as well. Subaru, hire some designers, and do it quickly.

I don't think it looks that bad, but oh well, everyone has their own opinions.

Subarus are SUVs for tiny japanese people. The interiors make no sense whatsoever.

I'm not really a fan of the current Forester, I prefer the previous gen for the looks. I'm not a fan of the Liberty's styling either, the current and previous generations. Or the current gen Impreza. Am I the only one that prefers older Subaru's?

Isn't the current-gen Forester vastly larger than the Impreza now? I feel like the XV has taken the role of the old Forester.

I do miss those frameless four doors as well.

They want their interiors to look the way they feel. They can't have really nice looking interiors while using 1990s hard plastics, now can they?

It's a farmer's utility car, effectively, they last for ever and will spend all day happily climbing up 89% inclines made of nothing but mud and clouds. I've only ever seen a couple outside farms/keeps... my friend had one (that looked like a farmer's car inside) that was really great. I'm with @niky on the suspension though, it was a bit of a boat :D

I don't get the whole STi/MPV thing for it though, and I hate the look.

I see older Foresters all the time where I live. They all look better than this.

I don't know anyone who prefers Subaru's new styling.

I like it, I was a fan of the first STi Forester and I'm glad they brought it back. The CVT is questionable but it can be made to perform.

Old Fozzies were great. They were boats, but they weren't too tall, so you could forgive a little bobbling as you rocketed down the road.

I had a ride in a 300-350 whp previous generation one (the one that looked a bit like a RAV4), and going around a sweeper at full blat felt like riding a rollercoaster that was about to derail. Uh... yeah... no thanks.
