What is Formula B-Spec?
Instead of driving the cars yourself, you serve the role of team manager. Hire drivers, paint your cars, build your factory, choose race strategy, and setup your cars for optimum speed to win races. This B-Spec series uses the racing simulation rFactor as it's base with the FSOne 2008 mod and Red Bull RB4 chassis. Each race will be broadcast live on twitch.tv/alphicah.

An enormous amount of time and resources went into developing Formula B-Spec Season 5. Around 150 races were simulated to ensure equivalency between the different options and rules, and to make each Grand Prix run as smoothly as possible with minimal issues.

-- Each team is given equal resources --

In the past successful FBS teams accumulated more wealth then other teams, and thus were able to build better facilities, hire better drivers, and more. In FBS5, each team is given the same amount of resources at the beginning of the season, and race results do not add or take away resources from any team.

-- 1080p @ 60fps streaming --

In previous Formula B-Spec seasons, each Grand Prix was streamed at 480p and 30fps, with graphics set to medium. For Season 5, each event will be streamed Live at 1080p and 60fps with graphics set to maximum @ twitch.tv/alphicah

-- Factory Update 3.0 --

Upgrades to your team cars are accomplished at the factory. This system is automated with the results based on how each team decides to build and staff it's factory.

Each team will have it's car upgraded 5 times.

1st Time As soon as your factory is established

2nd Time After Round 2 (Chinese GP)

3rd Time After Round 4 (Monaco GP)

4th Time After Round 6 (British GP)

5th Time After Round 8 (Italian GP)

Each team is now given more detailed options to customize the performance of their car to their liking. The more knowledgable you are in racing tech, the better chance you have to field a fast car.

Pit Stop Strategies

1. Teams may only choose 1, 2, or 3 pit stops for each of their cars.
2. Team cars are not allowed to pit on the same lap.

Penalties for in race Contact

1. A driver who is responsible for avoidable contact that damages another car or causes it to lose a significant amount of time will be given a 5 place grid penalty at the next Grand Prix. If the same driver commits an avoidable contact penalty for a second time he will be rewarded with a 10 place grid penalty at the next Grand Prix. If the same driver commits the penalty for a third time, he will start the next race last. If such a penalty occurs in the final race, a 10 second post race penalty will be given for the first offense, 25 seconds for the second, and 45 seconds for the third.

Cheating

1. Sharing setup data, factory information, or engineering answers results in immediate removal from FBS

The season has been cancelled guys. Not enough people showed interest. Cant say I blame them considering how I abandoned season 4. Thank you for signing up though.

Sad there wasn't enough interest to manifest a Championship. Hopefully some other cool series comes along.
