Formula PS3 :: Season 2 :: "WEC style"
After the huge success in our inaugural season Formula PS3 is back with a whole new playing field!
Switching from a Super GT based championship we switch to a full on endurance championship combining three classes of cars onto the same track for gruelling events.

This season we will be having teams! This was on popular demand and we have given it to you guys!
Teams will work so that YOU nominate who you would like your teammate to be and than you will be paired with them. You choose the name of your team and everything! You will be allowed to use team tactics, if in the same class, as long as they are clean racing of course!

:: Rules/Regulations ::
We will not have any double ups of cars except in the Sport Touring class. With only 4 types of car available double ups are allowed for this class although there should only be 1 double up.
- During an allocated session, you will mute everyone else EXCEPT your team mate
- Slipstream strength - weak
- Boost - NONE
- All driver aids are allowed (everyone is different!)
- Everyone MUST start on racing mediums, after your 1st stop, you can race on either softs or mediums.
- Damage - heavy
- Manual rolling starts
- Tyre & fuel depletion - normal
- Penalties - NONE! This is because lapped cars will stay ghosts and it won't be racing. If you are caught cutting corners bumping unfairly etc you will be kicked out no questions asked.
In a full room of 16 racers, we will have 5 LMP1, 6 GT1 and 5 Sport Touring cars.
:: Race Weekend/ Meeting layout ::
We will race on the weekends on dates/times that suit all 16 of us. With only 5 rounds we aren't as pressured to finish as we were with season one, BUT we do need to finish season two before GT6 is released in December of this year.
Once the room opens:
- NO FINAL PRACTICE! You should have put the effort in to get your setup right before the night. This is pulling us once again closer to iRacing.
- 20 minutes of open qualifying. All cars, all classes, after being performance checked will be qualifying for 20 minutes.
- Each race has it's own distance as can be viewed above
- Manual rolling starts will once again be used. Pole sitters of each class will maintain a speed between 80 and 90km/h. Each class will start roughly 25 seconds behind the class ahead.
- 2 mandatory pitstops must be completed during each race
:: Points system (for all classes) ::
1st - 25 points
2nd - 18 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 12 points
5th - 10 points
6th - 8 points
7th - 6 points
8th - 4 points
9th - 2 points
10th - 1 point
Bonus point for pole position for all classes!
NOTE: At the end of the season you must drop your worst round

- LMP1 drivers championship
Awarded to the most point scoring individual driver within the LMP1 class
- GT1 drivers championship
Awarded to the most point scoring individual driver within the GT1 class
- Sport Touring drivers championship
Awarded to the most point scoring individual driver within the Sport Touring class
- Teams championship
Awarded to the most point scoring team of the season
- Most improved driver award
Nominated by fellow drivers, this is awarded to the most improved driver within the season
- Allan Simonsen memorial trophy
Awarded to the winner of the Le Mans 2.4 within the GT1 class in memory of Allan
:: ACTIONS THAT WILL RESULT IN PENALTIES ::
- A damaged car that does not move out of the way of oncoming cars
- If a damaged car causes a crash
- Jumping the start
- Being a d*ckhead on the warm up lap!
- Unsportsmanlike behavior (Late dives at corners etc)
- If a slower class car fights with a faster class car while being lapped or after a pitstop
- If a faster class car forcefully touches a slower class car while lapping them or after pitstop
- Failing to complete 2 pit stops
- Having your mic heard for an unnecessary reason
- Weaving after being told to form up before the start
- Failing to remove your car from the track after qualifying
The majority of these incidents will result in a points deduction, denting yours and your teams chances of a championship, or if it is the final example, you will start from the pitlane. Some will be looked at after the race and can result in:
A - Points deduction
B - Grid penalty for next race
Or C - 1 race Ban
If you or your team receive a 1 race ban you MUST complete a test within a practice session to prove to everyone you have improved on those areas you were originally banned for. If you are deemed to have rectified the issues at hand, you will be clear to race. BUT, if you choose to misbehave again in the next race you participate in, you will be banned for 1 race with no test to come back for the next round. You will sit out.
:: Prizes (all classes) ::
1st place - A 1st place trophy that will be custom made and mailed to you! 1 full racing suit that you choose! Also a $30 PSN voucher!!
2nd place - A 2nd place trophy that will be custom made and mailed to you! A suit of your choice and 2 GT Auto tickets of your choice!
3rd place - A 3rd place trophy that will be custom made and mailed to you! A helmet of your choice and 1 GT Auto tickers of your choice!
Teams champions - A trophy to both team members for 1st place!
Allan Simonsen Memorial - UNSURE!!
Note: I know we all love the idea of trophies but if I can't afford it we can't do it! They might be then replaced with plaques or something your happy with! These things cost money that at the time I might not have!
