Fort GT Tuning Problems

Yo all, thanks for taking the time to read my question.

I am if i put it lightly a GT4 noob.

I have bought a Ford GT for the american championships and to keep for later races. I have tuned it up to about 743 or so bhp, along with all the extras it comes with exept fully customized suspension ( because i dont have a clue how to use it ) and i only got a 2 way LSD ( once again - ??? ). Anyways, my point is this, the car moves like a bullet, yet slows down like a train, and corners like a donkey thats hat a few too many sherbets.

How can i make this car handle any better? - It cost £150,000 and i spent about that tuning it up, there must be a way to make a dealer car drive like a race car.

Once i know the basics, im sure i will be able to figure out what to do with the rest of the cars i have tuned.

thanks for the help!!

Have a search through the "Settings and Tunings" thread for the Ford GT and I think you'll find quite a few approaches to taming this particular car's predilictions for misbehaviour.

One thing to note tho' is that adding power to a car that already has handling problems will only make those problems worse. Improve the handling first and increase the horses last. There are a few 'stickied' threads at the top of the fora that deal explicitly with which tuning elements perform what functions - they should help you on your first steps down the road. Be aware tho' that suspension tuning is still something of a 'black art' and sometimes you just have to try things and see if they work, even if those things disagree with the accepted wisdom of automotive engineering.

Best of luck.

I would say a typical problem is that you have increased the power way beyond stock, and left the suspension stock. I would suggest tuning up your suspension, try some of the tuning threads, especially R.V.V, and Madfinn tuners. their GT44 was quite good last time i tried it.
Hope that helps.

the Ford GT is one of the hardest cars to tune in the game.., just like sukerkin said, it's a fast car but it has handling problems. increasing the engine power will only make the handling problems A LOT MORE worse than before..,

if you really want to learn yourself how to tune suspension and LSD components, I suggest you downloading the .pdf files contained in this link: Tuning Guides , and also looking at sample tunes from the tuner garages around here.., hope they help you.., :)

Nice one to you all, I looked at the mad finn tuners guide, and tuned it exatly as they had written, only change I made was i kept the gear ratio to default, and after a few laps, I put the Traction Control back on lol. I will definitely be using their guides in the future, on every car i buy, thanks for the help.

And well spotted Tom Servo, I dont think anyone noticed that until now, anyways still got my results. :)👍

Tom Servo stole my joke, only I didn't have a great picture like that one.
