I was surprised by the lack of liveries. I haven't tried making one, but is it harder to make liveries in Forza compared to Gran Turismo? There aren't too many replica livery creators, so there are only a few choices for some cars.
Forza games used to be ahead in livery editors but GT has kind of overtaken them with its ability to import SVG graphic files as I understand things. (Whoops... tree'd)

Be interesting to hear the thoughts of PS players who have never played a Forza game or Horizon game before.
My first thoughts were that it's very similar to The Crew, which makes sense as The Crew is an obvious copy of Horizons gameplay style. It's better than The Crew though.

I did have trouble with understeer into oversteer at first but I've refined my settings so that's not so much of an issue. I'm still struggling a bit with take offs with no traction control but hopefully I'll get used to it. I presume it's much easier to control with a wheel. Lower powered cars are very easy to get along with but still fun.

Maybe I should've started on a bit easier settings... but I'm still enjoying it so far. It makes a pleasant change of pace and fits perfectly into a different space to GT7 and Wreckfest for my driving needs.

There is a launch control setting in assistances that you can use instead of traction control.

Thanks. I've been trying to run with minimal aids but if the high powered cars have it in real life, which many do (and they're the ones I'm having difficulty with), I'll most certainly use it.

Always has been :sly:

This. Oblivion is very buggy at the moment even for Bethesda, and is still the same old game under all the shiny new paint.
Skyblivion might be a better bet for players wanting a change when/if it ever releases. I think they change some stuff compared to the original along with the updated engine.

Now this has released on PS5 how are they likely to add the reward cars for new players from previous seasons? Whilst you can pick them up in AH it can take ages for some of the rare ones.Ive played since series 4 on the XSX but there are still about 20 reward cars that I need, and want to collect.
I see at the moment they are repeating playlists but in no particular order.Auction House is fun but also highly frustrating.

Last I checked, the remaster is on Unreal Engine while the original was on Bethesda's In-House Engine (which is also why mods from the original won't work with this remaster) so I'm not so sure that's true.

Yes UE is the shiny paint but underneath it is a 20 year old game with very old fashioned quest design, scaling, conversations, etc. It’s a great nostalgia trip for anyone who played the original but honestly not a great game in 2025. Also it’s clear it was shadow-dropped so the reviews of the technical issues would come out after the big initial sales.

I assume FH5 (for a brief moment I thought I was in the Oblivion thread :P) supports the Logitech G923 right?
Havent got a Xbox for years so FM4 was my last Forza game. Really want to dive into this.

All the best PS5 games are from Microsoft now so they all get a bit mixed up.

Yes that wheel works.

Getting obsessed with this one again, GT won't be getting much playtime for a while. Made the HoF, bought a castle (not as nice as the British ones), got a nice gift (must remember to do the same for any dupes). Haven't tried Hot Wheels or Rally yet, trying to finish a few of the stories first.

Yeah I have to say, playing it again on PS5 has completely reinvigorated the game for me. Can't put it down.

Thats a bit cheap because Forza Horizon is also from PS4 era and Oblibion Remaster even before. Or am I missing something?
It's just a little joke about Microsoft doing more to support the PS5 than Sony at the moment. The best seller and preorder charts are filled with MS games (FH5, Indy, Oblivion, CoD, Minecraft, Doom, Pro Skater, etc). We live in strange times.

Shots fired...
I'm REALLY looking forward to the fun factor. I'm sick and tired of the mess which is GT7's online driving (non) standards.
cries in Trial

Seriously, though, this game is so much fun (as was the rest of the series) and I hope those PS5 owners who decide to jump in get a real kick out of it.

You're missing that Forza Horizon 5 was developed and released during the PS5 era.

Ah ok, yeah its cool to see some popular MS games on the PS store, but they are nowhere in sales compared to stuff like Elden Ring, Spiderman, AstroBot, Ratchet & Clank etc.

So is Gran Turismo 7?

Give it time. The game was only released today.

Yeah, but you were excluding FH5 for some reason.

Well after the first few days I can say this is a superb game, the gameplay is addictive and distinctive from other driving games landing somewhere between PC3 and wreckfest in playstyle. I will definitely day 1 purchase the next game in the franchise too. Never had it this good for driving games before... good times and Assetto / Wreckfest imminent too!

I’m seriously blind. Been looking through the first four pages and haven’t seen a Car list.
Did you try here?

Hm I guess I just dont understand console fanboys then haha. Im just going to enjoy the game without worrying too much about who created the game

I do feel a little as though the physics and the car list are really carrying the experience though. Driving around in all my favorite cars feels fantastic, but the context in which I am driving around in feels fairly bland, I had to mute the dialogue because it was just distracting and uninteresting, meaning the game sort of boils down to just doing lots of short, different but similar feeling events. I wish there was a more focussed career mode; I've heard the original did this much better.

I also find it a bit odd that any car can enter any event and the AI are just roughly balanced around your cars' speed. I kind of get why its like this, but it feels kind of random as to whether my car will smoke the competition or one AI car will just leave me in the dust.

I hope that I do continue to find reasons to keep driving around in this world. Again, it's very satisfying.

I think this why the playlist is centred around specific car classes. There's a big difference between different cars in a certain event. You can't always win everything with the same vehicle. The stats screen is a real help with this.

Depends on the vehicle. I think I could win every race in the game with a 4WD Audi TT for example :D
