Koenigsegg carries the Sweden flag better than Saab/Volvo-Polestar ever could. But it won't be Sweden.
I like them as much as the next guy but no matter where the game goes they won't leave out Koenigsegg. Volvo has so many cars I'd like to see, and that's not even counting cars that were past games.

Wherever it goes I just hope we get a dive into the local manufacturers like we got with Australia and UK. That's the only thing that disappointed me about Mexico, pretty much only the Vuhl and Taurus felt Mexican to me.

The first Series reprise will be High Performance! Guessing this means the Oval Track will return sooner than expected, but after I realized just how underwhelming the Italian Automotive returning cars were (I mean, who's going to turn down free STOs and Ageras over 4Cs?), I suppose this was inevitable.

Also, this week's Backstage Voting--probably the last time I'll be reporting on this--will be between the SRT Durango R/Hot Wheels Nash and the Horizon Race-Off Team Off-road Reward with the Plymouth Fury.

Nothing new for me, so I've now got 2 BS passes in hand. Currently at 833/891 (14 of those missing are DLC cars).

Speaking of. Last night I 100%'d the Rally Expansion and Hot Wheels Park--today I completed the Car Collection, for one last time.

As of today, my Horizon journey has finally come to an end--at least for now. I'll probably complete the rest of Midnight Muscle, but after that? I'm done. I have nothing pulling me back in. Mexico is over for me.

I think this is the earliest PG has stopped updating the game. If I'm not mistaken, PG continued to update the previous games with new content right up through the announcement of the next game in the series.

No doubt about that. That being said this is the first time a port to another console, especially a competitor's console, has ever been a factor for Forza. It's very possible that the whole reason we're seeing this happen now is because Playground might have been asked to go 'all hands on deck' for the PS5 port and leave live content by the wayside. Remember, there's still talk of one more update, Horizon Realms, that might drop when the PS5 port hits. If that's in May, and FH6 isn't announced then or at Xbox's big summer showcase, then it's possible that might also be the first update of a shortened Year Four and we get to do this all over again. :P

Other company (Hot Button) is handling the port. If anything, PGs attention has shifted to the new FH if they plan to release late this year, or early the next.

Oh I remember--heck right after I posted that I remembered just how much more sense it makes for the Playlist Voting to be how Horizon's live service would be handled on the PS5. Ah well, at least Horizon Realms will be the only real content update the PS5 version gets in that case.

Depends on how you look at it - Series 37 was the last new one for FH4 while FH5 got to Series 43, which is an extra six months. FH3 had 'only' 29 months of Forzathons, so we're more than a year past that point. The difference is that the release schedule is slowing dramatically - instead of every two years, FH5 took three, and FH6 is at three and a half and counting. That's why the sequel announcement hasn't kept up in my opinion, it's just taking longer to make the games.

That being said this is the first time a port to another console, especially a competitor's console, has ever been a factor for Forza.

It's not another console, but FH4 had the Steam port release only 3 months before FH5 was announced and new playlists ended. That too was outsourced though.

Now that the weeklies are running down, I'm experimenting with trying some things in the game I haven't dived too deep into yet, mostly involving Blueprints. The recent early access of the new Tokyo Xtreme Racer inspired me to see what I could do to replicate similar one-on-one street battles, much like the events PG added as Midnight Battles, but there's just one catch: I want to pick a specific car as an opponent each time, i.e. setting up a duel between a '74 Celica vs. a '65 Mustang or something along those lines. But if I set up everything correctly, reducing Drivatar opponents to just one and making sure to pick only my car and the opponent car in the eligible entries, more often than not (but not with any reliable predictability) I'll wind up having a mirror match with my own model of car rather than the opponent I want. Is there a workaround for this?

Looks like Playground's Fable got delayed.

Also, I'd love a way to just flash your headlights at an opponent to start racing them in a new Horizon, and in a way that includes the traffic cars, lol

Slighty off topic, but looks like this is it for Forza Customs. The devs of the this game Hutch basically call it a day and made an (almost) "new game" called Matchcreek Motors.

Uninstalled FH5 'cause I'm pretty happy where I'm at with the game now that I have the full car collection and 100% on both expansions--what's the Playlist vote between this time?

Spoiler alert: Horizon Realms will feature new cars, so you might want to stick around for a little while longer.

FH5 on PS5 will have PS5 Pro support.

Anyway, new cars:

  • 2022 Hennessey Mammoth 6x6
  • 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto
  • 2023 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato
  • 2018 Lotus Exige Cup 430

And a new car pack with four Nissan kei cars:

  • 1991 Nissan Figaro
  • 1989 Nissan Pao
  • 1989 Nissan S-Cargo
  • 1987 Nissan Be-1

"I have the full car collection"

PG: Hold my beer! ;)

Horizon Realms cars confirmed...!

Okay, what. The Revuelto I called, but they're saving the Sterrato for this?! Okay that makes sense.

Also, NEW CAR PACK, celebrating Nissan's automotive history with two cars never seen in video games to my knowledge. Ho damn.

Oh my goodness golly gosh. 4 badass cars and 4 Nissan Kei cars. They were right to hype this up as a final update.

This kinda galvanizes my belief that Japan is our next stop btw, Kei cars better be a big part of a Japan game.

I think the Be-1 and the Pau were in Gran Turismo 4-6 but the other two I don't recognize at all.

Minor nitpick, the Pike cars aren’t Kei cars; they’re all K10 March/Micra based which are slightly bigger than Kei regs. Very excited to see those, I have a weird soft spot for all them all. Here’s hoping we see a March Super Turbo in the next game!

Also very pleased to see the Sterrato. It’s the Huracan variant that’s most well suited to the game and it’s exclusion up until now has always been puzzling, so to see it turn up at the eleventh hour is welcome.

Here is the official news link everyone:

Also reading that none of these are tied to anything in the Playlist, meaning they're available permanently?
Cars can be unlocked by achieving Accolades in the Realms, so they're definitely permanent. However. No confirmation that they're in Autoshow, so they might be one car only (I.e. not clear if you can buy duplicates or not).

Screenshot of the new race track which looks great!:

Lastly, the new car pack (which is included with the Ultimate Car Pack DLC). Prices are reasonable for a 4 car pack:

ALSO, 4 NISSANS FOR THE (PROBABLY) FINAL FH5 CAR PACK... 🤔
I'M CALLING JAPAN FOR FH6 100% NOW.

Tagging @Famine as he needs to get writing his news article ;)
