Forza Motorsport 4 - Audi R8 Mini clip.

The first 35 seconds were a waste of time. Enormous amounts of time wasted before getting to the actual video has always been a peeve of mine. It's bad enough when someone feels the need to spend half a minute to a minute with crappy title screens, but even worse when it's mainly just blackness for a solid half minute. It displayed the basic title of "Smashes crashes and passes" for fifteen solid seconds, even though nobody on Earth would need so much time to read four words, and then after that it was twenty full seconds of just blackness. None of that is necessary.

Titles are fine, but keep them to something reasonable like five seconds. We're talking about YouTube videos, not The Lord of the Rings. YouTube videos don't need five minutes of voiceover introduction, five minutes of opening credits, and a symphony orchestra playing throughout a ten-minute opening title/credit sequence. Seriously, I've wanted to make a sort of mockery video that's nothing but ten minutes of opening titles and credits leading up to absolutely nothing remotely interesting.

I'm not meaning to "flame" or "troll". I'm trying to provide constructive criticism, and it's criticism of a broad range of YouTube videos that suffer the same problem. We click on videos to see the subject of the videos, not to sit through a drawn-out opening sequence.

Woah. No need for a wall of text. I only left the blank screens to synchronize the clips with the music. For a better feeling instead of just throwing them in randomly.

Also. The things you posted make you sound like a prick. "flame or troll" "I'm trying to provide constructive criticism" These few things don't give me any "constructive" things to work off of. "Seriously, I've wanted to make a sort of mockery video that's nothing but ten minutes of opening titles and credits leading up to absolutely nothing remotely interesting." Ok. These things do not help me. As I am begging to Sony Vegas 10 I can't do too many things with it. Acknowledge the fact that you are talking to a human when you are on the internet and not some machine. You are saying that my video was "absolutely nothing remotely interesting".... Seriously. I hate to be mean and blunt back but the post above was an absolute waste of time and the fact that you said that you are trying to provide constructive criticism is just dumb because it clearly shows no attempt in helping me but instead insulting my video editing skills. Have a nice day.

He didn't say anything remotely nasty, he was just pointing out flaws with the video. That is constructive feedback. The titles are insanely long, it makes the video very awkward to watch and will cause most people to switch off early.

If you can't take feedback, you're going to hate putting videos online! People love to give their opinions, especially on YouTube.

Yes I know that I've had another Youtube account for about 4 years. I've never seen anyone put up a wall of text on how bad my video was. As for you you got straight to the point and told me what was wrong and didn't throw any insults inside of it.

I admit Iceman went a bit too far maybe but still your video have some serious problem. And apparently it was re-edited since IceMan post on it because I can't see any text until the end.

If it was a complete movie of 10mn, your intro would be probably fine, adding a few text to introduce your team or driver etc.. But here you're suppose to appeal us with good stuff, half your movie is boring and dont show any drift at all. I would try to focus on drift in a preview movie.

The previous movie is on my channel this is a teaser for another video.

I don't have time to do these videos. I have to juggle classes with work to get these done.

I know that the video I made before was kind of a dud but seriously as a person just starting with Sony Vegas 10 without much video editing skill you have to cut me some slack. If I really had time I could put something together that is alot better.

Also Drift Legends montage is a montage of one car and why it is so good at drifting. I will do cars such as the SC300 and other famous drift cars.

Editing skill isn't the issue, it's the pacing and directing.

Teaser is supposed to be a condensation of the full length, this is not condensed but rather a drawn out portion of a tiny bit of the overall content. I guess many people like me was thinking "where is the drifting" and "what legends?" when they see a lone RX7 at a leisurely pace on the track.

Slow mo is ok when you have something dramatic but the shots in the trailer are very plain, and frankly nothing much to see. It would work much better if you have a quick shoots of all the cars you will review and build up some anticipation.

Man this is a rough crowd up in here. Phil is starting out I think he did ok. At least from what I saw. You guys said it was a different vid though so I'd like to see the original. I'd like to see what you guys think of my stuff. My skin is EXTREMELY thick so hit me with your best shot. lol. Phil if you don't mind me stealing the thread for a second....

These were the first vids I ever did, in Feb of 2010...

This first one dedicated to the guys that run in the back of the pack hoping against hope to one day win

Then I got a little better at it I think...
