Forza Motorsport Update 15: Bathurst, Ray Tracing Updates and More

Okay, so am I correct in stating that we have a grand total of 1 new-to-Forza car this month, that being the 1991 Holden Commodore SV? I don't understand why T10 are being so stingy with Motorsport. Horizon 5 always has great surprises. I don't remember other Motorsport iterations being so bare bones. Are they having major problems in paying for licenses??

Good for Forza players. I don’t understand why GT can’t bring over any Aussie cars. I really just want them to bring Supercars but normal road vehicles would be great too.

I think it comes down to licensing, look at NASCAR we got the next gen cars, but no official liveries. To be honest I'd rather have the proper Aussie V8s than the current Mustangs and Camaros anyway, maybe Turn10 thought the same. I'm also sure the XboxOne Ford race car and the Holden 2017 race car were not already in the game. I'm pleased the update isn't too large as it stops my Series S whining about lack of space .

For those that played Forza Motorsport when it first came out and were left disappointed, I encourage you to give it another go as it's much much better than it was...even the engine sounds are getting better!

How long its going to take them to add drag racing and remove fomo tours, its been over a year, and still nothing, assetto corsa evo releasing next month, gt7 has become quite sterile, so ac evo is my best bet for new racing game.

This update reminds me why I don’t like roadmaps. Back in August Mount Panorama was announced for a December release, but the track looks and feels somewhat unfinished. I suspect they could have put in more effort if they hadn’t scheduled a December release way back then.

I’m not bothered by the general lack of new cars. It’s good that some of the old cars aren’t going to be left behind in FM7. However, as always they still “forget” some models, such as these:

1971 Ford Falcon XY GTHO Phase III
2009 Holden HSV W427
2015 Ford Falcon XR8

Nice, an Aussie celebration with: one new car, some we had before, and the only Australian track to ever exist. It sure should be the first to be added, but anyone else here who have played the TOCA games in the past and fell in love with some australian track or other feel like the country is severely under-represented?

I think more games should have a good SPREAD of tracks around the world. Not like Forza 7 for instance with only ONE japanese track (when 4 had more), and many games that only feature Bathurst. TOCA spoiled us too much unfortunately. I think back to TOCA World / Jarett & Labonte, weirdly only released on PS1, where you had like 6 different regional championships, with 3 tracks for each, plus the british cup having like all of them or close to.

Oh, I do miss the Australian tracks from the TOCA games. It got me interested in the V8 Supercars series even though I live on the other side of the planet.

You just don't see many games with Phillip Island, Barbagallo, Hidden Valley, or my personal favorite, Oran Park (RIP).

RTGI doesn't seem to apply to the cockpit view , at least not correctly, which is still extremely dark. Quite disappointing.

It looks realistic to me, but the mileage may vary per car/track.

It makes sense in your screenshots related to the lighting conditions outside. The issue is in broad daylight where car interiors are similarly dark which means bounce lighting from RTGI is not working as it should.

I agree with you @Cosbuster that there is something going on with RTGI. Although I took these shots from a different direction, they are from the same race, and you can see the reflections that disappear in the first shot are in display in the second as they should.

We may need a patch or another update to get a stable RTGI across all viewing conditions.

And the ghostly image on the right window above the side mirror? I don't know what it is! :scared:
