Not sure if everyone saw this. Didn't know exactly where to put it, but it's a news item so I thought this was the best place.

So a guy found a shipping container that had washed up on shore in Canada, that had floated all the way over from Japan from last years tsunami. Inside was a Harley Davidson motorcycle that, despite being rusty, was in pretty good shape. Harley Davidson was contacted about the bike, and they managed to track down the owner in Japan who had lost 3 family members and his home in the tsunami. He's currently still living in a shelter because of the disaster.

Best part about the story, is that Harley Davidson will be shipping it back to Japan, then restoring the bike to it's original condition all free of charge. Great stuff. :dopey:👍

What a heart-warming story.👍 My condolences to the bike owner though on the loss of his three family members.

I heard about this at work today, but not the details. So very cool to hear the owner survived, but indeed heartbreaking to hear about his family.

This is total class act by Harley Davidson. I thank them, and all the support Japan have received from around the world, and continue to receive today. 👍

Truly an amazing story. Kudos to Harley Davidson! My condolences to the bike owner and all that were affected by the tsunami.

Wait, why was the bike inside a shipping container? It was being shipped there for delivery at first?

Oh.

"The bike drifted some 3,100 miles across the Pacific ocean in the back of a cube van. Yokoyama was using the box as storage for the bike on his property. Harley-Davidson says that despite plenty of corrosion, the motorcycle is in surprisingly good shape given what the machine has endured."

I see why now
