frame rate question

I have a forty inch LCD Tv. Whenever I play gta 5 on it I notice lot of frame rate drops. But when I play the same game at my friends place in a Sony 3d TV (don't remember inches but more than 40) it runs very smooth. But every other game works fine on my TV including gt6 it runs very smooth. So are the frame rate drops due to the TV or something else?

Make sure that the TV isn't doing any processing like extra anti-aliasing et cetera. That shouldn't cause a slowdown but it's worth a try.

Also make sure that your own console is running as cool as it should.

What model PS3 do you have? Borderlands runs fine on my Super Slim, but it struggled a bit on my friend's 80GB fat.
