Or, you may try moving this thread to the "Computers & Electronics" forum where the people who probably know the answer to your question will be looking.

That's a keeper. Did you even look at the original post? Or did you just assume that you knew what was going on?

Look again smartarse, he asked about programs, "other than Movie Maker."

Oh, and for something video editing style, you might be able to test try StudioDV from Pinnacle software.
You could check www.download.com or www.pinnaclesys.com.

Hope that helps.

You know... if you download the Ulead Video Studio 8 Trial... wait for it to run out, then reformat and reinstall everything, you could use that as long as you want for free... it's wonderful video editing software.

VirtualDub is good for reencoding videos, applying filters, chopping videos together etc but if you want to add effects to your video it won't do. You can download trial software such as Ulead Mediastudio Pro for 30days to see if you like the software - after that you have to buy it or remove it from your system. Other software, such as Video Studio 8 may be much easier to use and is also much cheaper.

Here is a video I made using a combination of Ulead Mediastudio Pro (for capture and effects), VirtualDub (to deinterlace video) and Windows Media Encoder for the final output. However, you could easily just use Windows Movie Maker to make this sort of video, minus the transparent rotating car at the start of the video.

Overall, a combination of VirtualDub and Windows Movie Maker should suit your needs pretty well.
