Well, you get PHP, MySQL, CGI, Unlimited Space and 5gb of transfer a month at SpacePorts. There is banner + popup ads though. And you can only have an 8 character long username.

I used them before. They give you something like 5MB initially, and if you want more space, you have to keep on asking them. That's why I think it'd just be better to get some old computer, even a PII works, install some Linux distribution on it, and use that as your webserver. Practically unlimited storage space, you have complete access to install programs like Pearl and MySQL, and you don't have to put up with popup crap.

He  Have an old K6-2 350Mhz under my desk. Doesn't use very much power (Which is nice when YOU have to pay the electrical bills) but is sufficient for what I'm going to recommend.

The E-Smith... That is the easiest way to get a Web and mail server running. Pretty easy to set up out of the box. It's got php, perl, web administration, webmail access. You name it... That - and it's free ;)

If you're gunning for hosting something like tomshardware or gtplanet on it, then yes.. No problem. You'll need to shell out a little as it likes it's ram as much as the next server... But for hosting a small site, 128Mb (Heck. You could try with 64Mb) should be more than sufficient..

Cheers and PM me if you need any help....

Cool. Thanks.

It has about 32Mb I think. I might be able to get some more.
