I was listening to the Radio yesterday morning and heard a story about a man climbing in the Andes (South American) mountains. A blizzard had hit him, causing him to lose his way. Realizing that he wasn't going to survive he had resigned himself to freezing to death at the top of the mountain.
Apparently he had a Cell/Satellite phone with him, but had used up all of his time for the month (otherwise he would have been able to call for help)
Just when things were looking their worst, the phone rang and it was a telemarketer calling him, asking if he would like to purchase more minutes for his service. It was apparently difficult to convince them he was telling the truth, but the message got through, and he was rescued.
So next time you complain about a telemarketer, just think that some day Bill from Bob's tree service, or Shwanda from AT&T just might be the one that saves your life.
Btw this is a true story, not a joke or I would have posted it elsewhere.
