Happy New Year everyone!

I am considering replacing my brand new GT2 with CSR Elite. I bought the GT2 around 9 months ago, but never used it by forcing myself to utilize it only after I complete my racing rig, which is very close now :) Please, share your experience and provide your input if you have had both. Should I go for it?

I am also considering of buying TH8RS shifter with interfaceone's board, since there is no word about ClubSport shifter. Does any of you use the TH8RS with CSR Elite? What are your thoughts? I am on GT5 and Forza 4.

Thank you in advance!

P.S. Both, the CSR Elite and TH8RS are in my shopping cart, but I thought to consult before checking out :)

Buy now, you won't be disappointed. The CSR-E is outstanding and heads and shoulders above the GT2. I have the TH8 and interface one. Again, buy now. LOL

😄 I already ordered the shifter. How it functions with the wheel and pedals, any flaws?

@yegor
I asked in another thread for negative feedback on the shifter excluding shaft length and the difficulty in changing it from H pattern to sequential. After a few days I still have no responses. So I think it's pretty safe to assume the shifter is quite a solid purchase.

The change from H to sequential is easy peasy, couple of minutes. The shaft length is fine. In pics it looks really long but once you get it in your hands you're like "Aww man, this is perfect." Hope this helps.

That's what she said. Hey-oooo... :dunce:

Yeah. The change isn't hard, my complaint with it is the time. I would have preferred a switch to change between sequential and H pattern along with some sort of snap in rails or something. The change over time, in order to be useful, should have been closer to 10 seconds on the high end. It's not that it's hard, or operates poorly; my issue is strictly with the time. I wasn't a huge fan of the G25 shifter overall, but that dial is the right amount of effort. When it's that quick and convenient, you are more likely to use that function. This allows you to pick the shifter setup on the fly, rather than think about what you want to do.

This is one of the things we will improve on the CSS ;)

That's great Thomas. Honestly the shifter is good. Kudos to Thrustmaster, but the difficulty (for some) and the time it takes doesn't really make it a multi purpose shifter... not really. I can swap my sequential and h pattern off my rig in about 15 to 20 seconds... and honestly that's too long. Every time you want to switch styles it's just an inconvenience. When you're gaming you don't want to tell your firends "hold on I have to switch shifters" or "I need to reconfigure my shifter". There are many ways to do it quick and simple and effectively, and I think this is very important when making a product of this level.

I'm really interested in what Fanatec is going to do to solve this.

I'm definitely buying the CSS when it's out, thanks Thomas!

On the other note: is it true the CSR Elite will have swappable wheel options?

By the way, my CSR is on its way too, meantime I continue working on my custom rig and will creat a dedicated thread. There are several design solutions that--I think--no one has done before. Everything goes well so far, stay tuned! :)

Yeah it has at least 2 additional rims planned as rims (plural) was used when announcing rim plans for this year.

There's always paddle shifter if you're in a hurry. Another option is to get 2 TH8RS- at $150 it's a bargain considering the built quality and how the shifter feels (not to mention the adjustability).

Racing by myself the time lapse is fine, racing with a group is where it's no longer fine. I thought about getting 2 and then I thought back to the G25 and also that Thomas promised a CSS that would have this function. If I can wait then I'll see about the Fanatec, if I can't TH8RS is what I'm getting. I'll keep checking the web for deals in case a lower cost can change my mind.

I couldn't find a better deal than the one from Amazon, but still it's $150. On the other hand, I can sell it when the CSS is out (and better) by loosing only about 25% of the TH8RS price.
