Front/Rear-downforce

i've searched for this, but couldn't find anything similar to my question. if i missed something, feel free to close this thread.

now here is my question: is it the same, if i lower the front-downforce for a click or if i lower the rear-downforce for one click?? i got to this problem @ 300mph-tuning to avoid wheelies.

for example Downforce 53/82

is it the same if i change it to 53/81 or 52/82?? hope i haven't confused too much people :indiff:

What comes to the aerodynamic drag, it's pretty much the same - but the rear wing may have slightly bigger difference on the speed. Anyway, the difference won't be big if there is any at all.

But naturally they affect the handling and balance of the car in different ways, the wheelies may be even more likely to happen with 52/82. Less front downforce = lighter front end = understeer and a tendency to wheelie.

The answer is both yes and no!
For 300 mph tuning, more DF to the rear is better. The less DF you can run in the front, the better it is. And also the more DF you can run in the rear, the faster you will be. The trick is to run as close as possible to a wheelie.
On a circuit though, I believe that a 1.4 ratio suits rearwheeldrive cars best, like 50/70 or 55/77 and so on. So front DF times 1.4 equals rear DF.

If we talk about 300mph tuning, the answer is no. IMO, above 300mph, lowering front can increase speed, but lowering rear can reduce speed. Lower than 250mph seems normal, lowering rear increase speed.

but let's say my car wheelies, is it better to remove rear-DF or put more front-DF?

The aim is to always have as much DF as possible on the rear, so adding in the front would be my tip.
