Ft. Lbs

I'm brand new (as of 10/19/02) to PS2, GT3, and this forum, so please forgive me if this has been asked before (my guess is that it has)

When I buy a car, the Spec page reports hp and torque values about what you'd expect. But as soon as I mod anything, hp goes up, but torque drops to about what you'd expect from a mid-grade lawnmower.

At first I thought there was something I was doing wrong (and there could very well be), but no tweaking or additional mods seem to bring the torque up much at all.

Is this a bug in the code, or am I not doing something right? I can get standing qtr times in the low 11s, so it looks like my cars are performing ok, but to see 715 hp and 28 ft. lbs is a bit unnerving.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

This is a bug in teh program. I believe what happened, is that a decimal is out of place by one or two spots.

Welcome aboard, and take a look around.

AO

AO is correct. Due to a bug, the torque values given are 10% of the actual number. It's visual only, and doesn't affect preformance, but it does make it difficult to mentally compare things without extra thought.

Welcome to GTP! As AO said, look around. The Writeups forum has a lot of good solid information on many race series and what to expect. The Search function works quite well, too, as many topics have been discussed at length and with good information.

What they said - PD goofed the torque spec in GT2 as well. You'd think they'd learn.

....and welcome to :gtplanet:
