I have spent pretty much all day today on the daily race Gr3 at interlagos. Im left wondering wether there’s something fishy going on with the fuel map or is there something I’m missing. Reason been I have spotted a couple of drivers that never pit and place at the top. I’ve tried several strategies throughout the day which have seen me run with or without pitting and I can’t seem to get anywhere near these guys. Bear in mind I’ve had several pole positions and have been way ahead of these guys in terms of qualifying time yet they seem to finish miles ahead.

Like i said is there something I’m missing?or have these guys found some loop hole.?

What times were you doing per race? I could do 15:40s with a RSR. Fuel map 3 from 2nd or 3rd corner until lap 10 where I would change to fuel map 2 or 1 for a last stretch.

During the time I was racing with fuel map 3 I was also shortshifting (all gears). Average lap time of 1:33:xxx IIRC.

I would almost guarantee it's nothing more than short shifting.

I could run the Gr.4 race yesterday?(Brands) and have heaps left in the tank at the end of the race, Fuel Map 1.

My suggestion is to choose your car and then go to Brand Central.
Check out your cars peak power and torque rpm points.
And utilise that as a shift point reference.

Some cars can be used in this way better than others, but ringing the neck out of any car in every gear is a sure way to find yourself needing a pitstop.

Also remember, these races also have tyre deg.
So race lap times will typically be significantly slower than qualy times.

Short shifting but still maintaining decent race lap times is quite easy to achieve.

@Tassie_tiger in the GR.3 race you couldn't reach the checkered flag with fuel map 1 + short-shifting without pitting. I haven't tried the Gr.4 but Gr.3 I'm 100% sure it's impossible. Unless you drive in 4/5/6 gears only but you'll be lapped by everyone. ^^

To be honest mate l haven't run a fuel deg. Gr.3 race since 1.10.
So perhaps I've overstated it.

If l can get onto the servers and they offer a race like that l'll give it a go.
But l havent found it an issue before.
