If they still can't do it right, why bother including them in events? No wonder they're only turned on in the last events.

I tried the Apricot Hill event in a Mclaren GTR. So they don't let me choose my start fuel, fine. They'll do all the math and just give me enough to finish the race, right? I refuel mid race and change tyres. By the end, I cross the finish line with 1/4 of my fuel tank unused. Thanks for adding a completely random factor to the game that is fuel.

After that I tried the 10 laps of Suzuka. Same car. Little did I know, race cars don't come with rain tyres pre-purchased anymore. So I end up having to drive the last laps with RS. They're completely gone with a lap to go. So I decide to pit again, but the changing tyres and refueling menu does NOT show up. Not only was the car undrivable at more than 30 km/h, somehow my fuel ran out before I got to spoon.

How do they calculate fuel consumption?? Why couldn't I change tyres or refuel in my 2nd stop?

Edit

One more thing. I noticed online that tyre depletion is bugged. You're safe with the tyre health bar(lol?) full, but once the rear lose ONE bar, they snap with no warning

S events are exaggerated in every way. On the other hand, if you create an online event and put tyre/fuel use on normal you get more realistic use of everything.

I took a stock Integra around HSR for 24 laps which is 59.76 miles of a 2.49 mile circuit, pushing to the red line and not doing anything to conserve tyres or fuel and at the end of it had only used either 30 or 31 litres of fuel and both my CS front tyres were at 9 after 35 minutes including out/in laps.

That's odd. I was in an FRS/CS lobby once with depletion on, going around streets of willow. I had lost 1 bar of the rears and snapped as usual with no warning. Perhaps the tyres actually lose more grip than it shows online, and the fuel is adjusted to a percentage of the race distance.

I haven't done any testing with fuel or tire depletion in GT6 so I can't really comment on that, but I agree that you should be allowed to pick you're starting fuel amount. Pretty sure I can choose how much fuel is in my tank when I roll out in real life, or even better all the other racing sims I've played. Super annoying, just another example of how PD and Gran Turismo make stupid game design decisions.

Why did you refuel that much?
Simply divide the amount of fuel you had used by the number of laps or time, then calculate how much you need for the rest of the race.

Or drive into the pits, it tells you how much fuel you need to complete the race.

The fuel calc doesn't seem to work too well on these races, as with the tyre wear there seems to be a bit of scripting in the last two laps.

In 8 laps at the 20mile. I pused my MP4-12C 8 laps with no refueling. It ended with less the 1liter of fuel left. I hate how the exaggerated it so much :\. GT5 was better at endurance races.

One race I did started raining near mid race, so I switched to intermediates. Then it dried up with less than two laps remaining, and I was still on intermediates. It completely dried up, from 20% to 0%, instantly while I was about 1/4 way through the lap. Then my intermediates overheated and my tire life went from 7 to nothing in half a lap. That is ridiculous, as intermediates are supposedly designed to provide flexibility in semi-wet/dry conditions, but yet it couldn't even last one lap in the dry. It wasn't like I was pushing hard either. I had a pretty large lead, but that stupidity ruined my race.

If PD was just going to half-ass this feature, they shouldn't have implemented it at all.

The tyres on the first stint of LeMans 24mins last forever but as soon as you change them (same tyres) they wear out very quickly!

I know what you mean, I did the first stint on soft or medium and they seemed to last well until I had to pit for fuel (after 2 laps), but the next set I put on seemed to be around 3 or 4 halfway through the 4th lap when I needed to pit in again.

I wasn't sure if it had something to do with the rain on the track if that made the tyres last longer (I didn't change to wets or intermediates), all I know is I had to use hard tyres to be able to finish the race and not slide all over the place.
