Full cockpit view?

Every screenshot of a GT5 cockpit view I see reveals a full rear view mirror; however whenever I switch to the cockpit view I only see half the rear view mirror. My interior camera is set to wide, I only have three options - wide, zoom, and extra zoom. I am playing on a HDTV no 3d..... Is the game supposed to cut off the rear view mirror was it built that way? Or am I missing something?

Pleaseeeeee helppppp:crazy:

Yeah, it's built that way the only thing you can change is the option you just mentioned which is wide, zoom and extra zoom and trust me don't play around with it because it looks really weird. The only thing that can fix it is that some cars have different interior view and you might need to buy cars and test out the interior view. Anyways when you use your mirrors the graphics looks weird.

No, you can go to options and go to controller setup there you can see the right analog stick and the 2 sides of it left and right have no function and you have to choose the function of look left or right. When you use this in game your driver's head moves. And you will be able to see the full interior

Yeah, but if you read his post again you will see that he said that if there is a chance of revealing the whole of rear view mirror. Don't you think pressing left while driving and cornering be comfortable?

Thanks guys for the feedback... I was inclined to think it was built that way too, until I googled "Gran Turismo 5 cockpit view" and all the images show the full rear view mirror and full steering wheel.... Is this a conspiracy lolol whats going on?

Yea the problem with this is it isn't comfortable to do while driving and you acceleration gets controlled when doing this

Maybe the google images show the view with certain cars? Or they moved it and took pictures of both angles and stitch the images.

Certain cars show the rear mirror and side mirror clearly.

Most only show the rear view and the side is of minimal use.

Then there are a small few (and annoyingly some of my favourite cars have this problem) that have completely un-usable mirrors

Just check out different cars and you'll quickly discover some are worse and better than others 👍

When using the bumper cam, you can have the whole rear-view mirror because there isn't a real limitation of the field of view for the rear view mirror. It's centred and it combines what you would see in the wing mirrors and the interior mirror in a real car.

But when you switch to the cockpit view then there is a limitation on the field of view. PD could have made it wider, but it would look wierd. Personally there should have been a FOV option so you can adjust it. I'm going to assume that you're using a DS3 controller and assigning a button to look to the left or the right would be uncomfortable so this isn't a solution either. The only other solution is to have a triple-screen setup but this is going to be very expensive to solve one small problem; you would end up buying 2 more copies of the game along with 2 other TV's (unless you have some lying around) and 2 more PS3's (Unless your dirty rich, chances are you're not going to have another 2 lying around  ).

Yeah, This is a pain even though I did like 1 hour of drifting in my MX5 :) still managed to control it on the wheel but it was hard not being able to look left while doing a tandem so I gave up and switched back to bonnet view.

You can still look left and right with a wheel. It may be more or less comfortable and convenient depending on the placement of the buttons, and you can't look part-way unless you have an analog control(or maybe pressure sensitive buttons which I doubt any wheels use). But you can still use the left-right controls to view your mirrors and to see cars alongside you(to a point).

Of course, many cars have mirrors that are largely or completely useless even when you can see them, some have mirrors blocked by other parts of the car, and many standards have no mirrors at all thanks to the decision not make any external parts of the car visible from the interior view.

I only press the button to look left/right when I have to park my car and driving on a straight line other wise its too hard
