I am looking at getting a Logitech G25 wheel (used) off of ebay, but I was just wondering if the steering angle is adjustable. If not, is 900 degrees fun to drift as well as race with? Any help is appreciated.

If you want adjustable degrees of rotation, than you should get a wheel from Fanatec. From experience, when racing, you never use all 900 degrees. When I was practicing drifting, I used a lot more than with racing, but I never got all 900 unless I spun out.

Personally, once I learned to drift with the 900 degree steering angle, I've never used less since. It's so much fun and rewarding to let the wheel spin freely and grab it at just the right moment to hit that perfect counter steer! =)

These are of course personal preferences. I have a G25 and a Fanatec GT2. I learned the 900 degree "way of driving" with the Logitech. Even though the GT2 has the adjustability, I still use the full 900.

I'm lookng at the 911 Carrera right now, thanks for the feedback.

Its a great wheel in my opinion. If you're the kind of person that don't really cherish much about how it feels, saying this since the wheel rim is rubber instead of alcantara, but just want a wheel with 6-speed and a clutch, then go for it :).
But BEWARE the Fanatec Standard pedals are not long lasting. They are utter crap and you'll eventually have problems with the brakes, such as only getting 50% of it even though you fully press on it, and when you press on the clutch, it uses the brakes as well, which can be fairly annoying.

Might end up like me having a signature like mine
Well unless you can afford the CS or the new CSR Elite pedals.

The G25 can only adjust its angle when you use it with the PC, when PD will finally give us full support for the G25/G27 we might get the option to adjust the angle on GT5 as well :)

The degrees of rotation is totally adjustable regardless of what you are told.
The problem is there is the Global setting (everything is taken as a percentage of this). then there is a Setting that can be made in the Profiler for each individual Sim Racing Game you use all separate from each other [ This is why you start individual games from the Profiler]

And then most games/Simulations have an internal sensativity and degree setting. the ALL interact so be careful with your settings.
ALL of the above relates to PC Sims and the Logitech DFP G25/G27 Profiler.

IMHO the Fanatec is overpriced for what it does when compared directly with things like the G27

Alright thanks. How long did your pedals last?

I've only had mine since the first week of September. But I bought mine used from eBay.

@MozzMan
I have to agree with you to the full consent.
Also the additional side to the G25/G27 is that you can do so many modifications to them to fit your needs.

Some of you fellows damn near have me in tears with your lack of understanding on how this hardware works.
It is completely pointless in having a 900 Deg wheel UNLESS you USE it, setting 900 gives you precision, to assist you then adjust the sensitivity in the Logitech Profiler (PC) or Game /Simulation (Console) also the Deg of lock in Game interacts with and has a PROFOUND effect on how the Car drives and performs.
My bet is many suffer from Over steer particularly getting on the throttle coming out of a turn.
2 things you can do here immediately,

1 Turn the steering degrees of Rotation up (This DOES NOT MEAN you HAVE to turn the steering further) in some cases you might need to but this is then compensated for by turning up the "Steering Lock" and Axis Sensitivity-
The steering sensitivity in Game Up but the Deg Steering Lock DOWN. as a general rule

2 Go to the Throttle setting and reduce the sensitivity to 0% NB: You WILL still get full motion but a much slower and smoother responsive throttle application at low RPM coming out of a corner = less likely hood of breaking traction.

@rb26x if you are talking about adjusting rotation, it is possible. I'll go find the link here in a minute for ya.

Here ya go. This documents the prodecure for adjusting the G25/G27's rotation. There are 4 settings. This works for the PS3 and for the PC. though its not really required for the PC since settings are all over the place, and most PC sims automatically adjust lock to lock rotation to the car's actually settings that you are driving.
