Nice. My only question is will it work with a DFGT? I am not looking to spend money on a G25/27. I already have the DFGT and it works fine for me.

Never noticed that little tidbit. And now that I know, I think I'm equally as uninterested. FFB or no sale.

It's a step in the right direction, can anyone confirm if force feedback works or is it just rumored atm?

Jerome

Not mentioned but I would assume so. What it does is basically take the direct input from the G25/27 and convert it into Microsoft's retarded xinput so I would assume so. It probably copies Fanatec's system. Also why go through the trouble of creating a converter for a very expensive wheel known for strong force feedback and not support it? XCM makes pretty solid 3rd party adapters.

There has been an ongoing conversation in the steering wheel sub forum here on gtplanet

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?p=4565256

There was an email sent to XCM about the force feedback and they said no, it doesn't support force feedback because the Xbox 360 doesn't support force feedback. This can be taken in a couple of different ways, traditionally the 360 doesn't really support force feedback in the traditional form. XCM have said that it supports rumble instead, so what they mean by that is hard to determine. Its possible that this adapter will make the G25/G27 work like the old Logitech DriveFX Xbox 360 wheel (which there are definately a group of people that enjoy that wheel more than the official Microsoft wheel).

According to the other thread XCM were quick to reply to emails, so if you guys have any questions fire them away to the guys at XCM. I'd be curious as to what they mean by the Xbox 360 doesn't support Force Feedback when both Microsoft and Fanatec both have wheels that do this.

Either way, even if it only makes the G25/G27 work like the DriveFX i'd be happy, the DriveFX wasn't a bad wheel at all. It would also make things easier for people like me who only casual race on the 360 not having to reattach a new wheel to my wheelstand to do a few laps on Forza.

Ok now it seems there is a more enthusiastic response over at MaxConsole.

So since our posting of the XCM F1 converter, we were asked whether the device will support G25/G27 force feedback on the Xbox 360. And the answer we received from XCM is a simple one - no... unless! Unless the games themselves support force feedback, then XCM may issue firmware updates for the converter to make it happen.

But what really means with this?

i just fired an email to xcmcc@xcm.cc about XMC F1 Converter Rumble rendering, here it is:

"Hi,

I own a G25 Logitech racing steering wheel, and i am very interested in the possiblity to use it with my Xbox 360.
It is now possible with the XCM F-1 Converter.

I am wondering about the rumble support. Is it really a "Force feedback" in realtime and is it as realistic as it is with officials xbox Steering Controllers?
If that's the case or not, anyway you could upload a demonstration video showing the device working properly using any racing game you like in the xbox 360 playing it with the G25 or G27 Steering Wheels, please show us how the Rumble is rendered ( you could show the steering wheel in realtime while showing the video of the Xbox behind )

Or please describe in more details what you mean by "Rumble"

It is a big deal and could be a decision maker for me and i think lots of potential customers.

Thank you for your time reading and answering.
Have a nice day."

I hope i made myself clear in the email and they will understand what i m looking for.

I will provide the XCM answer as soon as delivered.👍

Hey Guys,

I emailed XCM and they came back with an email saying that their techs are working hard to "let it work on force feedback" and their release date is delayed due to firmware upgrades. It "may" be available next Tuesday from the retailers.

So at least this shows they are working on the matter, it seems alot of people are emailing them about Force Feedback support, obviously its a big deal to any of us that have used it before. With the fact they offer firmware upgrades (like fanatec) this could prove good for the big games such as Forza, how much time they are going to dedicate to the lesser games will need to be proven I guess.

i don't know much about ffb so what is the difference between force feedback and rumble?

Force feedback actually simulates the movement and resistance of the wheel, whereas rumble is merely vibration, like you'd get from a normal controller.

They just added a new small video, you can download it directly from xcm website
"Beta test part.2 (testing the force feedback function)":
http://www.xcm.cc/ (same as the one posted above)

And result:
NO FORCE FEEDBACK but more of a RUMBLE effect as i can tell :guilty: lame and i will definitely wait to see more to buy this

i hope they keep working on it

It would be nice if this could work with the Logitech GT Driving Force wheel. So far i haven't seen anything that says it will work. :(

The Xbox360 requires an authentication of the input device. That's why you have to connect an original gamepad before you can use the adapter. Maybe it's impossible to fake a wheel this way.

From the last video uploaded it looks a bit laggy and so not true "ForceFeedBack"

Anyway I just pre-ordered it from :
http://www.play-asia.com/XCM_F1_Converter/paOS-13-71-eq-49-fr-70-44aw.html
and you can also pre-order from :
http://www.renchi.com/renchi/Xbox_360_Accessories_F1_Converter_XCM.htm

I will give you personal feelings on the device as soon as possible.
And will be able to test it with almost all Xbox360 racing steering wheel type games.

Any suggestions beside the obvious Forza ...💡

How about Race Pro, its done by the same people that did the GT Legends and GTR PC series ; SimBin.

Like Pittman335i said, RacePro or even F1 2010. I'd also look at the other racers, even if arcade minded like PGR or the multiplats like NFS, Grid, etc. Most here will care more about Forza though

So far i m ok for reviewing the XCM F-1 converter for :
- Forza 3
- PGR 4
- Race Pro
- F1 2010
- Need For Speed (hot pursuit)(shift)
- Grid
(still waiting for the device i m looking for good racing games)

i saw on renchi.com
F1 Converter (XCM)
US$ 84.90 (£52.47)
Xbox 360
Release Date: 25-Jan-2011
Publisher: XCM
Stock Status: 1-5days shipping
(looks promising)

but i pre-ordered it on play-asia (they only say that it will be available Jan, 2011). I hope it will not be long before they actually ship it.

This is amazing, I really hope this goes well because this definitely gives us 360/PS3 owner a wider range of wheels to choose from.

My only concern will be configuration settings specially in a game like forza3. I know they will be releasing new firmware upgrades to support more games and only make it better. Seeing rumble feature on the wheel already is already a plus, sorry but that's not real ffb at all cause xbox360 doesn't support it at all, now I never had a problem with the original ms wheel which it had somehow a nice and strong rumble feature. I will definitely be getting this adapter once I see some of you guys and the company themselves upload more video reviews and previews. I currently have a G25 in a box for many months, it will be nice to take out the dust playing FZ3! ;)

Now i am no expert but i know the right game to test this adapeter with would be supercar challenge, by far the best ffb in any console gsme to date period.

Check the thread in the correct area regarding this product, there are videos contained within that show full working ffb on the logitech wheels.
