After a year & a half of use, I have suddenly started to get a problem with my G25 wheel not centering properly. I first noticed it in F1CE, but it is now doing it in FC also. The wheel starts off slightly to the right & then gets progressively worse so that after a few laps I have to hold the wheel at a 45 degree angle in order to drive straight!

Anybody else encountered this? Any fixes?

Have you tried any other driving game to see if the issue is present as well? I know there is some "slop" in FC but not that bad.

Yeah, it is also doing it in GT5P - starts with a minor bias to the right, but gets progressively worse lap after lap.

Its broke, one of my friends had his doing that after only a 2 weeks. He sent it back and got a new one, so I would say fix it or get another.

The fanatec with pedals that would probably break from the first slam on the brakes?

Besides, you can send it back to logitech and for a fee(i must tell you, its not small), you get it fixed for you.

I'm pretty sure the G25 is not "broken" in any way. It's a calibration issue, which can almost certainly be fixed somehow: the question is, how?

I am probably am going to get the GT3 wheel with clubsport pedals, but I have around 1000 hours on my G25 - it's going to take a while before the Fanatec wheel can prove it is as reliable over the long term as the G25.

try to get the program for the pc on the logitech website
you download that, plug your wheel into the pc and you can calibrate it
dunno if it'll work
also, have a look through the FAQs on the Logitech website or ultimately, just email them for help

Umm... NOT very helpful so far.

Nox, you've got to get a grip - you don't even HAVE the Fanatec yet!

Sorry!

OK back to being serious!

Did you try it with PC? Install the software that came on CD? Then you can see if wheel is aligned or not.

Yeah I have my Logitech G25 for 1.5 years as well, still works fine. Never had an issue.

Nobody have any experience of this problem? I don't use a PC (MAC), so unfortunately, I can't easily try to re-calibrate the wheel on a computer. In any case, the fact that the wheel moves further off-center the longer I play suggests to me that the problem may be mechanical. I actually took the wheel unit apart yesterday to have a look inside, but it was really not possible to see what might be wrong with it. :indiff:

I don't know man. It might becoming broken or something like that... time to save up for another wheel...

Only thing I would suggest is Plug it in and out during game play few times. Both power cord and USB.

How is your G25 setup? Is it plug in always? or you move it and plug it in every time you wanna play?

I had planned on buying the GT3 RS wheel when it comes out. Unfortunately, as you know, they keep pushing the release date back. I'm a bit reluctant to buy another G25 in the interim. Actually, I'm pretty sure this problem can be fixed, but I don't know how to do it & Logitech aren't offering any insight into what might be causing the problem, or how to fix it...

sorry man no clue.. RS wheel.. by end of next month.. you can wait that long.. but .. remeber RS is more of PC wheel then PS3, Fanatec did mention it works currently with some PS3 games and GT5P, But in the future it might not as more updates comes.. but who knows. I play Both PC and PS3, So I do not really care about it, as long GT5P and GT5 works. Besides seems RS wheel is way cheaper over TURBO S.

So if you are looking to buy PS3 wheel, email the Fanatec guy (he is in these forums) on which wheel to buy for best price specifically for PS3.

I don't know about buing G25, sure good wheel, but for me I never like idea to buy the same thing. My first wheel was DFP, GOD what an amazing wheel I thought, then G25, JESUS! even better, Now I can't wait for Fanatec, they offer more then half the features and NO dead zone over G25. So I am excited about it. (hmm 40 more days or so? )

So yeah, buy something new and fresh, save up. I don't know how to fix the centering problem. These days nothing lasts more then 2 years lol.

Yeah, I would rather "move on" & try another wheel. However, I'm not that confident the RS wheel actually will be available at the end of April. :nervous:

Logitech have offered me a new wheel at half price (their usual policy), but I think it's a bit stupid to give up on the old G25 as I'm sure I could fix it if I knew how...

But, half price and you get BRAND NEW wheel. So don't feel stupid. I bet they will fix it, but hey new wheel at half price.. How much is that? 150? 125?
