G25 shifter mod - wheel not working anymore

Hey guys,

my G25 warranty lasted until last week so I decided to finally mod my wheel.

I've opened my shifter, carefuly removed the spring and the small ball and did what I had to do. I added the elastics and closed everything.

Now, the wheel won't start if the shifter is plugged in. So, the wheel will only start if the shifter is unplugged.

What is happening?

Thanks

Edit: I'm playing on a PS3 and there isn't any disc in console.

why the hell did you do that for ? You might reopen it and check all the cables, see if everything is in place. If not, then........... would you sell me the whole g25 for cheap :D ?

Well, many people have done that to their shifter and they're still working. Think of everyone who made handbrake mods, etc. I'll reopen it to see if a cable is unplugged... if I'm lucky this will be the reason.

Thanks Nevertell, briging a possible solution is always better than posting something useless, even if the solution doesn't work.

Thanks

It wasn't useless. You asked a question that I answered. It's not my fault if you don't like the answer...

You are a bunch of cruel bastards! :ouch:

I seriously doubt you have "broken" it. You'll have to open it up & check that no wires were cut or disconnected. The G25 shifter can be a bit temperamental, but I think you'll get it working again ...

That's exactly what I mean. What definition of broken are you using?

Hello. Here are a few pics. Maybe they help you to see what you have done wrong.

Sorry about my bad english. :sly:

If that post of yours wasn't useless, I guess we all can start to post in that tone? 👎👎 I think that could be used as an example of useless post. I'm pretty sure he knew something got broken, don't you think? :ouch: And more than that, it shows a really bad attitude.. especially being a mod and all. For heavens sake, he's just seeking for help. :yuck:

just imho, of course. :dopey:

I know it sounds a little obtuse, but I think that most people who would mod something only consider it broken if it can’t be fixed. Until that point, it just doesn’t work. Not working and broken are not equal.

I opened the shifter and I could see one of the connector not fully plugged in. This fixed it.

@Daan : Yeah, you were right, it was broken. I'm sure your solution made it work again. Just by thinking about my problem you repaired my shifter. Thanks

I had to open the shifter so I took the time to change the spring's tension with a piece of klenex. It feels so much better now. It could be better but not with that small ball. Too much pressure there will lock the whole shifter.

Thanks guys for helping.

Ps. Love you Daan
