I don't know if I am the only one but I feel that the shifter for the G25 is very cheap and feels really weak. I don't even use the shifter for the G25 because of this. It just does not feel realistic at all. Am I the only one that feels this way and chooses to use the paddles, or is there anyone else?

The G25 shifter does feel a bit on the cheap plastic side, but from some of the comments I have read the resistance mod can make all the difference if your happy pulling the shifter apart.

I did the resistance mod. I think it is on one of the threads in this forum.
I did it about 5 months ago and its going strong.

Feels strong as gear stick in my vw polo.

my issue isn't the resistance, but "mis-shifts". I select 2nd and occasionally when playing LFS or GT5P, it gives me 4th, and on 3rd it occasionally flicks 5th in etc.. would it help if I'd just clean the thing from the inside? because of these annoying glitches I can't even use the sequential mode, it keeps skipping gears and thus I need to used the paddles instead. and the clutch pedal isn't needed either :indiff:

Call Logitech, they've been known to send complete wheels to keep customers happy on these. ;)

And yes, the mis-shifts are a common problem.

I miss-shift on a regular basis because of "driver error", but the mechanical problems with my shifter have not returned since I took the shifter apart & put it back together again. Logitech, will replace me the whole wheel set if you have a problem within the warranty, but they will not even sell you a replacement shifter if it is out of warranty!

Although the G25 shifter definitely IS the "weak link" in the set-up, I am pretty comfortable using it now, although I still have periodic miss-shifts.

it's probably out of warranty, I bought it almost instantly when it came out.. 300€ :ouch: anyway, I will most likely take it apart and clean it, after all, it has received some heavy duty abuse.
