G25 "solid shifter", anyone?

I am the proud owner of an mk2 gti 16v Golf and as everyone who has driven one may have noticed, the shift action is a bit iffy in the car. I suppose this is why the 'solid shifter' was invented - as seen here

Now this looks like a relatively simple mod and I thought if these companies making bespoke G25 parts were to make something similar, it would be great.

I dont know if anyone already has and I am not aware of it..

I had one of those weighted bars on my Golf some years back. It totally changes the feel when changing gear. Very worthwhile IMO.

I'm guessing he's asking if anyone has modded their G25 wheel so the gear change feels more weighty.

Yeah I have a MK3 and all you really have to do is blow on the shifter to put it in the next gear lol...I really need something like this..and its not too expensive neither.

My question remains. What has this got to do with GT5p? This is still a gran turismo 5 prologue forum. This should be in the Steering Wheels & Racing Cockpits forum.

Im sorry im such a noob, i didnt even realise there was a separate hardware forum. Thanks fot the info. I definately checked out the whole modding scene and its quite impressive, but i couldnt find any company that makes like a bespoke "gearbox" for the G25 with more feel. What I mean is, one that would be plug n play sort of thing and replacing the standard arrangement. Is there something similar out there that I havent discovered and if not why?

I looked for something like that as well but haven't found anything. Maybe when Frex starts to mod the G25, there will be a better gearbox.
