I've never owned a racing wheel before, so I have nothing to compare this to. I just got a G27 for my birthday, the first thing I did was fire up GT5P. After I started playing I realized that when I take long, gradual corners, I get this kind of twitchy or jittery feedback effect. I can really feel it when I make those slight steering adjustments when going through long, banked corners like those of the Daytona track or the High Speed Ring. The best way I can describe it is "notchy," the banked turns are not smooth feeling. All driving assists are turned off, wheel is set to "simulation" and the problem happens at any FFB number.
Before anyone jumps in with the whole GT5P isn't supported stuff, I'll say that the first thing I did was download the NFS:Shift demo for PC and tried the wheel out there. I find there is a lot more FFB action going on in that game but I can steel feel the notches when cornering.
I'm posting this mainly because of the sheer amount of people I have heard talking about the g27 and how it feels smooth and consistent due to the helical gears. I was wondering if anyone out there experienced this or maybe I need to RMA the wheel? Again I have nothing to compare to which makes this frustrating to troubleshoot. Thanks for any help.
