While we're waiting for GT5 to come out, I've been thinking of whether to get a new steering wheel or not. My previous setup was the DFP + mahjong table :sly:. Have to say it wasn't the best and I don't have the table anymore since I've moved.
So I've been deciding to get a new wheel + (maybe) a stand, but theres something thats been confusing me and its whether I should get the G27 or the DFGT for GT5.

Logitech says the DFGT is the official wheel for GT5, so does that mean it works the best with it?
Then the G27 is very tempting with the extra features over the DFGT.
Does more $ mean better here? Afterall in most of the videos of GT5, they tend to use the DFGT.

Thanks

It really depends on what you want. Do you want a clutch and an H-gate? Do you have a way to affix the separate shifter on the G27? Are you comfortable with using the buttons on the shifter console of the G27 for the functions for which the DFGT has specific buttons?

If no to any of these, then get the DFGT.

It depends, if you'll be more of a casual racer, get the DFGT, if you'll be looking for a decent set of pedals with a clutch, look G27. And alsoifyou'll be playing quite regularly look G27 because ther is no point of spending about £220 for something that you'll use 6 hours in a week.

If you are interested in clutch, H-Gate, decent pedals and good wheel but not going to use alot look Fanatec Porsche Carrera wheel, £155, and I've got a great set-up for GT5.

The only reason the DFGT is the "official" wheel is because they are targeting the majority market...as not every casual gamer wants to spend big $ on a wheel

Yes the DFGT has adjustment knobs on the wheel, but you can customize the buttons on the g27 to perform the same functions

G27 has better FFB and better pedal feel, with the added bonus of the H-shifter and the cool rev indicating led's

The G27 is pretty big money indeed, about the same as a new ps3.

I think I'm going to get the G27. Not much point getting a wheel with less features and deciding to purchase a better one later on. :)

Thanks guys. 👍
