i got a g27 a few months back and i have nothing really bad to say about it....except one thing.
when im in a drift and im leaving a corner if i try to do a quick gear change up it stays in neutral unless my revs are under a certain number. it doesnt really bother me because i have learned to drift corners in one gear depending on the corner but when i set off and my car does a burnout when i go to change up it stays in neutral and ****s up my start everytime!!! its ruining tandem battles for me! oponents always get a huge head start! anyone with similar problems?? it also doesnt happen as much with d1gp cars

Just use the padel shifting .. trust me once you get used to the padels You will like them better...
You can go from 2nd to 3rd to 4th gear and back down to 3rd all in the same corner leaving you with the maximum control of your slides...

no. i didnt buy a €300 steering wheel with a clutch and H pattern shifter so i could use the paddles. I want it as realistic as possible and i upgraded from a dfgt just so i could use the clutch and shifter!

No he's right. It is a big problem and everyone knows it.

But what you can do, is if you want to disengage the clutch, just press a paddle and dont press the clutch and you can use the shifter without the clutch.

PD said it was a hardware fault that is very hard to fix (or something like that), but I think its a lie and they just cannot be arsed to fix it.

^^^ exactly... I didnt buy a $300 dollar wheel to use padels either
but if your really in the moment and you need to keep up with vehicles and your shifting is slowing you down.. Just use the padels until pd fixes it

Just jumping in on this, I'm assuming it's your 2->3 that's causing the most issues, Make sure the leather surround on the gear stick isn't getting caught in the mechanisms, Ive found mine tends to crease and fold in on itself, preventing the gear from properly engaging.

Just do what powell said, hit the paddle shifters once, then "AUTO-CLUTCH" is enabled and you can use the H-shifter without using your clutch pedal... If you are seriously stuck on this clutch thing then you should try LFS

Yes, everyone is correct in what they are telling you. I too own a G27 and when im drifting and when I want to up-shift i'm either extremely careful while shifting(make sure the shifter is ALL the way in gear before releaing the clutch) , or I use the AUTO-CLUTCH function(acts kind of like a sequential transmission). the Auto-clutch is useful when I'm tandem'ing and don't want to worry about missing a gear change and ruining the drift experience.

I say otherwise. Find a car with a good powerband and stay in 5th gear. I say the same thing, I did not spend 300 on just an H pattern, I need clutch too. Hope this helps unlike the cheating auto-clutch. Lol

So every G25 owner or G27 owner with a G25 shifter switched to sequential mode is a cheater too then? Maybe all of those people who bought T500RS wheels and TH8RS shifters are all cheaters too because they want their shifter to work in sequential not just H pattern.

The game just recognizes clutchless shifting as a sequential shifter. There is no "auto clutch." You never see neutral come up on the HUD while not using the clutch but shifting in H mode. Nor does GT5 recognize neutral if you shift H pattern without the clutch pedal, then pull it out of gear to the neutral position.

Please let people play the game in the manner they wish to, as it is just a game. I must be a cheater though since I have a G25 shifter rewired to work with my G27. I just can't be trusted because you know, sequential shifters aren't Uber hax0r leet enough...

As for the dude with the clutch shifting problems, all you can do is practice.

it's hard to do but it is deff doable with practice, you just really have to time when to shift and time the clutch-in shifter movement very well. I really hope they can program the power on shift while using the clutch at some point in the future!!

I HAVE MOST TROUBLE WITH HIGH RPM CARS because they are slower to come out of revs and allow you to get the shift in. I try to shift when I have the car kicked out sideways enough to still slide while I make the gear change and I use this e-brake when I want a longer entry or to extend a drift.

People drifting without the clutch? Um not for me, I clutch kick when drifting. I simply don't change gears while im spinning.
I set my gears so I can have a good powerband through wide/tight corners. I change gears once my car straightens out.

Kaz Put the g27 clutch limiter to give all the d-pad users an equal advantage.
Apparantly, people with g27 clutches were flat shifting through the gears, acquiring faster times than those on controllers.
I've been down this road before.
Ive had my g27 the opening day it was released.
this "problem" occurred after a specific update by Mr. gt5.
I just learned to build my adjustable gears custom tailored to each turn.

You're kidding right? I am almost certain everyone straightens out of corner exits...

No I'm not kidding. You ever hear of llinking corners??

Are you serious?! I don't know if this is true because its the first I've heard of this.. BUT! If it is true I will actually kill Kaz. If we buy a wheel for €200+ I think we deserve to have faster lap times and the most realistic experiance!

They can be..

.
E.g. Cape ring, meihan, ebisu. I would name gt5 tracks but I haven't been on in a while so I can't remember.

I never got to try it out like that!! that sucks!!!! I want our clutch (back)

Like I stated before our clutch on the g27 is ALREADY disabled for time trial seasonal events......so why can't we have a good working clutch otherwise.

I've read read somewhere that Kaz said you don't get the full GT5 realism without a wheel....well I spent over 300 on a wheel and I want my clutch realism!!!

if it worked right at the beginning then WE WANT OUR CLUTCH BACK KAZ!!!!

I been doing the exact same thing with my gears in all my drifting cars and it helps alot! for the rest of you, i dont want to change my driving style or cheat cluth, and my problem was happening shifting between 3-4 and i also dont want a "universal gear" so i dont have to shift! all my cars use gears 3-5 depending on the corner and the corner after that, and im fine with the clutch now, just took a bit of frustrating time to get used to it!!

i've complained about this many times. It's not you. They don't let you up-shift with lots of wheel spin in high rpm, you can gear up, but you have to really swing the car, let the RPM drop a bit and then change gears.

This can be hard to do, easier to do in heavier cars with good low end torque. :ill:

I wish they would fix it because it would make things a lot better for certain turns and sections. :)👍

Dam right kng. If we had a proper clutch system tandems and everything would be way closer.

And just another thing they made a mistake with is, IRL if you break mid-drift the back would stay out. That doesn't happen in GT5.

it does for me! ive never had a problem keeping the back out with the brakes on! you just have to know hen to put the power back on to keep it out!
