I've been using the G27 in GT-6 for some time now and all was well.

Lately the shifter (paddles) are failing to shift, up or down this seems to start after a crash/off road excursion but can happen without though less frequently. Some times when this symptom appears I can switch to the H shifter and get the gear desired but when the led's on the wheel all light even that option seems to be out of whack. Usually I can regain control by slowing and applying brake though many things have usually been tried by then, so there may be another factor in the combo that regains control.

Additionally a single paddle shift up can result in a multi-gear change in the desired direction. This occurs much less frequently in the down direction.

I deleted the 14GB game file and re-loaded all the updates with no apparent improvement.

Started a new player profile from scratch with symptoms remaining.

Is the in-game data delete (Start Menu) different from the XMB game data delete?

I remapped the top left & right Wheel Buttons for shift down & up. this resulted in the Wheel Buttons some times working as a backup but if all the led's light they fail to work like the H-Shifter.

I called Logitech and now have a case # but am looking for a DIY fix if possible (loose connection, frayed wires, etc.) as they claim a 2 week turn around.

TIA for any info anyone might provide.

Maybe one of the connectors backed out a little under the steering wheel. Can you reproduce the problem on another game or on a PC?

How old is the G27, is it still under warranty?

Sounds like the infamous 'double click' problem I had with two Logitech mice: when you click once, it actually double clicks. Logitech sent me a replacement mouse, but after one and a half year the double clicking problem on the new mouse showed as well. Out of warranty now...
So I think the micro switch of that paddle is worn out. Maybe you can replace it yourself?
Alright, thanks. I`ll try to replace the micro switch, hopefully it will fix the issue. And again, thanks for the tip 👍

  • Affects GT6, GT5, and Assetto Corsa (PC)
  • ~6 months old
  • I have an incident # from Logitech.
I am suspecting a bad plug or cracked board. Crash related FFB or oversteering a skid ie spinout gets it to fail so a wire chafe is also a possibility.

Just wondering if this has been seen before what the solution was, if known.
