Just wondering what you think the pro's & con's are of these 2 wheel are?

I was thinking about G27, then decided on fanatec 911, now after watching more drift video's with the G27 I really dunno which I should go for :nervous:

They both have their great values:

911 turbo:
$240 (aprox $200 cheaper than g27)
Wireless
Better button selection IMO on the wheel itself
Change the 900 turning degree angle down to 180 (perfect for go-karts in GT5 + advantage for arcade racers such as burnout or blur)
No dead stop in centre of wheel

G27 will be $430 aprox
Great nice smoother wheel motion (great for drifting)
Great pedals & H shift manual gear box

I guess all round the G27 is a much stronger durable make made from much stronger material than the fanatec 911 turbo.

I really REALLY wanna drift, A part of me wants to buy both wheels & use the fanatec when needed for go-karts or other games but it'll be too much of a pain changing the wheels over on my wheel stand pro..

It gotta be one or the other! If only the G27 could change the turning degree of the steering wheel then my problem would be solved..

I could go on & on about this.

I could just use a normal controller for the go-kart races.. But then I might miss out on using the fanatec with some awesome arcade racers later on..

His is a huge decision for me & my patience is wearing thin.

I just want a steering wheel for my ps3 that im going to enjoy long enough to have no regrets :banghead:

Just wondering.
I hear people talking about drifting but have never done it. I also don't have a wheel yet.
Can the Fanatec wheels not be used for drifting at all can they just not do it ? Or is the G27 just a better wheel for drifting but the Fanatec wheels can still do it but not as well ?

"G27
Great nice smoother wheel motion (great for drifting)"

I thought the Fanatec wheels were know for being smoother than Logitec wheels ?

The gears inside the G27 are helical gears, I am lead to believe they are more like a real car..

Its not impossible to drift using a 911 turbo, its just got more strain & resistance in the 911 tubro, where as the G27 will counter steer with next to no effort..

Maybe the 911 turbo wheel being slightly bigger in diameter is one of the reasons why the G27 feels better suited for drifting im really not too sure.

The Fanatecs have a setting to reduce the damper of the wheel. Drift mode as it were. It has multiple settings so you can tune it how you'd like.

Also I would only really suggest the Fanatec GT3 or Porsche wheel turbo s as far as their belt driven wheels are concerned. The additional options and upgradeable firmware put them ahead of the Regular Porsche wheel turbo.

It's $430 AUD for the G27? Can you not find someone to bring you one from overseas or ship it personally? I picked mine up at Best Buy for $150...
