Yes, I know there is a thread about this but I want my own thread. People maybe think why not G25 instead of the new G27? I currently own the G25 (4 years old)
It's been broken for almost a year now and I feel the rush for a new racing wheel!

I'd like a new G25 because I have two spare shifters laying around for it, but also want to experience a new wheel.
About time it died, it was well used since I first got my hands on it, when I was 11. Yes I'm only 15 now :) Anyways, I've been droooling on the Fanatec long time now since my wheel is broken. But the things that make me consider the G27 over it is that you can't mount it properly on a desk without those 2-3 pins that stick out from the wheel. And the stock pedals, they look way too cheapish for me.

How are these pedals vs the G25-7 ones? I'd really like to know that. I've been a active member over at forzamotorsport forum and there is a thread about Fanatec wheel and who got it etc, and many have written about their problems with it. Are there still problems with it? It's kind of a risk burning 349eur on a wheel if it aint working when you get it. How is the mounting for the Fanatec to a desk? Is it as smart as the G25? Or better? Cause the G25 mounting system was brilliant, even though if you didn't mount it properly and you came to a turn in a game with hard FFB you would have the wheel smashed in your lap :ouch: Hehe.

I don't know what more to write :P Thanks in advance and hope for some answers.

I have seen videos of wheels on youtube..
Actually the only reason that I want the Turbo S is that it's compatible for X360 and I can use it on Forza Motorsport. Is that reason enough to get it over G25-7? Tough choice.

Personally, this is something i spent the last month thinking about, I still havent decided whether or not to get the GT3 RS V2 or the 911 TS. Its a tough choice, but i certainly wont be getting a G25/7, purely because you cant buy upgrades, with the fanatecs you can improve parts as they're released.

I got mine for Forza and it's worth every penny, it's just a bonus it works on other platforms.

I have to disagree with the first part but the second i agree.

Forza is finally great with a wheel but as it doesn't have a 1:1 (steering on the wheel, tires mouvement) 900° steering i wouldn't buy it espacially for forza ( iwas honestly shocked about this as the game is famed to be a GT competitor, but it can't live up to it's hype). But if you have the 2 consoles and maybe a pc this is the wheel to go.
but that isn't the wheels fault but forza being never been designed for 900°

I have not gotten a wheel yet but this is my BIGGEST sticking point.
To Turbo-S or not to Turbo-S and just go with a Fanatec GT3-RS insted.
I do not have a XBox360 or PS3 yet, I just have a PC.
It seems people online and reviews online make Forza3 out to be a great must have game.
Since I still need to buy a Wheel and a PS3, I think I want someone to tell me Forza is not the cats meow and that I can live and love racing with just a PC, PS3, and a Fanatec GT3RS and there is no need for me to spend money on a Xbox360 and Forz3...
Can you sim racers live without an Xbox and Forza3 and one day Forza 4 or would that be a living and driving hell on earth...LOL

IBO
FM3 actually does fully support 900°.
Please do not start the Xbox console with the controller or the wheel but with the on/off button on the console itself and make sure that you have selected "900" in the "SEN" settings of the wheel.

Sorry I can't let you off the hook here I have played more Forza than anything else in the 10 months I have had my wheel, mind you this was a lot to do with the wheel shake that you get in GT5 before you upgrade to the UE Firmware (v669) (which I upgraded to last week finally). However, I can live without Forza or any other game/sim as I am sure you can but the question is if we have the option to enjoy them then why the hell wouldn't you!!!

Thanks for that I was beginning to think I was going mad as I always believed I had a full 900 degrees in Forza (and have actually posted in forums about my preference for setting my wheel in Forza 3 to 900)

I never said it wouldn't but i said the wheel mouvement is not 1:1 with the tries mouvement. So if it supports it it is very badly impemented by turn 10.
I did like you said above every time i played forza or turned on my xbox

But go to the exterior view. Look back and start turning the wheel and tell me you got a 1:1 mouvement??
because i don't get it . I don't know now the exact angles. But here is my post after playing the fist time with 900° posted on the main fanatec thread:
with the 900°, did someone noticed that the steering, moving of the wheel is not 1:1 (in GT5P it is exact). It does turn a lot in the first 180/210° (on the wheel, than nothing for a certain number of degrees, than again a big step, and on the last 90-180° on the wheel it does nothing on screen.
I noticed in the menu you can change the deadzones, played a bit with it but all it did was making it worse not better. Did you tweak something in there?

The difference is shocking compared to GT5P where it is 1:1 which i love

Don't get me wrong : your wheel is still great ;) and isn't a wheel problem
But the problem is the game.
It is massively over hyped.
I said it multiple times :FM3 is no competitor to GT, since i got especially an xbox for FM3 i been really disappointed with FM3 cause i may was expecting too much, but that was due to all the hype, people even saying it's as good as / better than GT5P. And physics wise it simply ain't. All in all FM3 is a better NFS:Shift for console (cause on PC you can mod the physics).

Without wheel i stopped playing FM3 at 8.5%. Now with the wheel i will continue playing it. But it will probably gathering dust from the 3rd november on till my ps3 dies and the new arrives.

Fanatec
also concernig GT5P :
I still have the 660UE on the wheel (as delievered) but i don't get the shacking everybody is talking about, but i also don't have the FFB in GT5P on max but on 7/10. Is it due to FFB set to max??
+can you look in CSP thread to give me a help me out on my problem?

For me Forza 3 and Race Pro are must have games for the Turbo S wheel. I specifically purchased a Turbo S Wheel for these 2 games, along with PS3 functionality and IMO these 2 games do not disappoint 👍

If anything both these 2 games could learn something from Dirt 2 with regards to FF, as it seems rather on the weak side.

And don't get me wrong, FM3 improved alot with a wheel and actually is really fun with the TurboS.
Otherwise i wouldn't have spend a lot of time with it since i got my Fanatec.

I guess what I ment was this.
If you were starting over with nothing . You owned no consoles and no wheel yet. Would you spend the extra money on a Turbo-S and an Xbox360 just for Forza3,4 or would a Fanatec GT3RS with a PC & PS3 be all you would need.

It is a bit of a dumb question. I mean, we all buy what we want in the end.
It must be the fact that I have never played Forza that is making the choice a little harder. It makes me wonder if I will miss somthing (Forza) that I never had before anyway...LOL..I do know what it feels like to miss the money..HaHa

My 2 pennies:
Tough question that i can not really answer to you. (but just for forza you could guess my opinion by my previous post)
there are also threads about the xbox+forza buy option in the forza thread/ forum.
300 bucks for just one game would hurt me but the xbox also got other great exclusive titles...

Just ask yourself if you will play forza after november the 3rd??

The thing is, it probably would be for just the few driving games that are Xbox only and can't be played on a PC or PS3.

I mean the Xbox360 has been out how many years now and I have not gotten one yet to play any other games. So it would be for driving only most likely.

The racing exclusive are good games (forza, pgr, race,...).

So i would rather say it's up to you and how easily you can spend the money.
i had no problem with spending the money on it as i played a lot of the xbox exclusives (racing and other like Alan Wake, GOW2, ...)

And i think i only belong to few people complaining and negging about forza :D ;)
