G27 vs T500RS

So given that its looking unlikely that there will be a resolution to G25/27 compatibility for the PS4 any time soon I have been thinking about getting a T500RS for my PS4 games, while using G27 for PC or maybe even selling it to fund the T500RS.

Has anyone used both these wheels that could provide an honest comparison comparison?

The Thrustmaster wheels seem to have a bit of a stigma attached to them and the Logitech wheels so universally praised its hard to find an honest comparison.

Thanks

Not used the T500 but have the T300 and have compared that with the G27 and its definitely better, smoother quieter and awesome ffb when off road. I've read the best option is the T300 base with the T500 rim and pedals of your choice (several options) personally calibrating the stock T300 pedals and a few home made mods I find are very good but I don't use a H gate shifter as being partially handicapped I find paddle shifters work best for me.

You can find all kinds of comparison discussions for this choice, since many people are coming to the same conclusion and looking into alternatives.

If you search the forums, particularly the hardware and project CARS threads, you can find numerous good discussions.

As a G25, Fanatec GT2, T300 and T500 owner (with no vested interest in any vendor, just a collection of wheels) my answer is simple: if you want PS4 support, get the T300.

it's basically like an improved G25 - smoother, no cog rattle, just as free spinning, considerably more powerful, and full PS4 compatibility. Sadly a three pedal set costs extra, but you can use G25/27 pedals with it via a cheap Ricmotech adapter. Once you use the T300 you really won't want to go back to a G27.

The T500, as you can read in many threads, is more powerful than G27 or T300, but has a very different feel (heavier, more internal resistance) which for me gives the T300 the edge if you had to pick one.

Some games haven't worked correctly with 500rs yet. (clutch, ffb issue)

I sold my G27 after using a T500RS, it was just that much better in every way. The G27 is the king of entry level wheels and its pretty reliable for 3+ years so that's why it gets such high praise, however there are certainly more realistic and better performing wheels such as the Thrustmaster T500RS, T300RS, TX 458, and Fanatec CSW v2, after that you get into the ultra expensive direct drive wheels.

Which games are you referring to?

It was 'the crew', but yesterday, Ubisoft announced new update. This update included fixing of t500rs clutch problem. Meanwhile, t300rs hasn't had that kind of problem ever in PS4. Personally, I am using t300rs and I have already ordered t500rs, and I am waiting shipment. I think both wheels are significantly good performance wheels in the market. Nevertheless, I can say these two wheel's advantage is obviously different.

I own both and yes different pros and cons. Best of both worlds if you stay with Thrustmaster brand is TX/T300 wheel and T500 pedals. Better yet is TX/T300 wheel and CSR Elite pedals with CPX adapter. Better yet is CSW v2 and CSR Elite pedals.

Long time responding... but thanks for the feedback guys.

I ended up getting a T500RS with the Ferrari 150 Italia (F1) wheel and the T8HA shifter. It's definately a massive step up, but the fixed paddles I've found extremely irritating with the standard wheel.

Has anyone attempted to attach the rim from the 300 to the 500 assembly?

It will work just fine, however the PS share won't work as a share button since that's for the T300 only.
