Although the Logitech G27 Wheel has had a software update in the latest patch (11 Oct 2010) , using the wheel for the Red Bull Vettel Car is exceptionaly uncomfortable, noisy and rattles loudly.

Hard to describe so I made a comparison video using free run on the Daytona track with the Play Station Audi R8 Race car and then the Red Bull Vettel x2010.

The video is on youtube as my video editor wont publish to this forum.

We really hoped that this great wheel and good game would have been able to solve this problem, but no. Apart from PD adding some bling and a button so you can spend even more money at ps shop, and steering wheel button customisation, while removing the triple payouts, this game and wheel spoiling fault is still there.
I have tried all possible setups and options and nothing stops the red bull from doing its manic straights dance. Imagine Vettel trying to operate his DRS in this car, I think an ex world champion in a grave rather, than a back to back winner.
Nearly a year to solve the problem, which incidentally doesnt happen on F1 2011 with this wheel. Perhaps Kaz can ask them how they managed it as he seems to be unable to solve the problem for GT5.

Weird. It reminds me of the violent shacking of my DFGT when going 380km/h+ on the old strait at Le Mans in GT4. Very crazy as it should be in an older car at those speeds on an uneven surface. Now in this new car though, state of the art tech, at break neck speeds on an uneven surface, a little bit of shaking....
I'm not sure it's a fault.

Its not a little bit of shaking, you can hear the DF motors fighting each other and if you look at my hands on the wheel, the seat and my shoulders you can see how violent the movement is as it is being transmitted to them as they are being shaken by the wheel as it has to be gripped so tightly to keep some semblance of control.

As this is supposed to be a simulater it should simulate the smooth action the Fomula 1 cars in real life have. Their suspension transmits a lot of road surface uneveness to the car but you don't see the wheel trying to fight its way out of their hands. So I disagree with your conclusion about this not being a fault. it is a fault and a bad one.

Whenever I use the x2010, with my g25, I disconnect the power lead. Not ideal, but makes things much easier.

I agree that disconnecting the power lead solves the vibration but it takes all the feedback away and as a simulator should simulate removing the force feedback negates that, and a cheap plastic non feedback steering contol would do the same job as using the G27 in that fashion.
Kaz needs to fix it or state on the box that the game is not fully compatible with the Logitech G27.

I do not know from personal experience, but both a look through these forums and a google search will show that some other makes are reported to suffer the same problems.
If the thrust of your question is to suggest the G27 wheel is responsible then the flaw in that argument is that I have found no other references to this problem appearing in other racing simulater games.
On further testing it also appears to have improved fairly dramatically on the other Formula cars in GT5 so it seems PD have found some way to improve things on those cars using the G27. I fail to understand why this improvement hasn't been carried on to the X2010.

As an edit, this isn't a knock the GT5 game posting as in all other respects we find the game challenging, rewarding and enjoyable, but this one major flaw with this rather special car is having a spoil effect. It is also being used in special events that are introduced to the game and is making it hard to enjoy or even be competetive.
