While driving, any turn that is made causes multiple buttons on the wheel to act as if they have been pressed. This issue isn't related to a specific game or machine. This happens on both PS4 and PC with a selection of games including: Gran Turismo Sport, Dirt Rally, Dirt 4, Project Cars, EuroTruck Simulator and DriveClub.
This video example shows the issue on PS4 playing Gran Turismo Sport.
As you can see from that sample the game is paused, goes to the home screen and takes a screenshot. Steering was slow and steady. In some cases it's even worse. It will navigate the XMB and start another app or game! If I'm shunted while driving the force feedback causes the wheel to twitch and it happens. If I have to make a quick counter steer, it happens. Drifting is impossible. It's getting down the point even just smooth driving is impossible. I took the video because a Logi CS said you could be mashing the buttons while driving and not realising it. (!!!) My fingers, hell, all my extremities are well clear of the center of the wheel. This started happening about three months ago but has steadily gotten worse.
The buttons that malfunction are OPTION, SHARE, PS HOME, RA FUNCTION +/-, DPAD, and I believe L3 and R3. I have checked all cables. There are no exposed bits and the connection to the hardware is secure.
Has anyone else had this issue? I only found two posts on Logi support forums. This wheel isn't used very much. Just over a year old. I work and have an active raid/mythic+ team on WoW that consumes more time than any racing/driving game. I play a game with the wheel about a once week for all of 4/5 hours.
Edit: Here are the two threads I found.
