Game buying, past, future, impulse, and watch-list

So this is a combo thread, instead of spamming this forum.

First off, the past hit games.
Gran Turismo 2 (PS) - Only need the Simulation Disc, but probably will buy the full and pick the better of the discs and cases.

Gran Turismo 3 (PS2) - Traded in with all of my PS2 games and my PS2. Looking for used, but new works too,

Gran Turismo 4 (PS2) - Traded in with all of my PS2 games and my PS2. New or used, this is my favorite GT game so far.

Second, the future "hopeful hit" games.

Dead Space 2: Limited Edition (PS3) - Comes with Dead Space: Extraction free of charge. Extraction uses Move and remastered in HD with trophies.

Medal of Honor: Limited Edition (PS3) - Comes with Medal of Honor: Frontline free of charge, as a port from the PS2 hit remastered in HD with trophies.

Gran Turismo 5: Limited Collector's Edition (PS3) - Impulse buy, and a mighty fine one at that. The keychain, model car, book, and premium packaging all made this a lot more apealing than a bland GT5 case.

PlayStation Move (PS3) - Definently the epitome of motion controls, this will be EPIC! Don't know what I'll get, but they will exceed my expectations.

Third, the impulse buys

These games would all be on an impulse, or a really good price.

So this adds up to around $350 on the Past and Future, over $500 with the impulse and the watch-list games.

Past:

Gran turismo 1 - I just want the original version instead of the platinum version for collection sake

Gran turismo 4 Prologue - Never played it. It was that time I had switched to playing xbox (which happened to be a complete stop in gaming at the time too)

Future:

Transformers War for cybertron (need to see a review to seal the deal)
Infamous 2
GT5
NFS HP
Motorstorm Apocalypse
LBP 2
Twisted Metal
SBK X

Impulse:
F1 2010 (I'm pessimistic about it but we'll see)
WRC (I've bought milestone/blackbeans every other ps3 game so far so I'll probably get this one too)
Test Drive Unlimited 2 (Looks interesting)

Problem is I'm not sure I'll play half those other games if they come out after GT5.



Also with modnation if you have to pick one version stick to the ps3 one. PSP one is fairly limited especially online.

Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are probably the best 3rd person games out there. Great story, graphics, sound, challenging, and definently addicting.

Also one game that for me was even better yet was Batman AA. That should be on everyone's shelf.

I'd go as far as to say that Uncharted 2 is one of the greatest games of all time! But that's a topic for a whole other thread.

So, sticking to the thread:

Past:

Rugrats: Search For Reptar for the PlayStation. This was my first game for the PlayStation. I used to love it! I wouldn't mind playing it again, but I lost the original copy ages ago.

Pokemon Silver Version for the GameBoy Color. I haven't purchased a Pokemon game in a decade, but I have fond memories of playing this game with my friends. I still have my original copy, but the internal batery is long dead, so the game won't save. So I would have to buy a copy that is mint.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 for the PlayStation. I had alot of fun with this game. This was back when Tony Hawk games were still fun! Now they are all crap! Again, I lost my original copy ages ago.

Future:

Gran Turismo 5 Collectors Edition for the PlayStation 3. I'll be pre ordering this as soon as I get some cash together.

Need For Speed: Hot Prusuit 3 for the PlayStation 3. Looks pretty good. It would be my first NFS game since Underground 2.

Impulse:

Mirror's Edge for the PlayStation 3. It's only $20 at Best Buy, so I may get it if I ever feel the need.

Uncharted for the PlayStation 3. I have Uncharted 2 already. For $30, it sounds like a good bargain.

Logitech Driving Force GT racing wheel for the PlayStation 3. I don't have a wheel for my PS3. And since the Logitech G27 is way out of my price range, it seems like this wheel is the best bang for my buck. Although, I heard the Carrera wheel that's coming out in a few weeks will apparently have G27 features for a DFGT price. So I may get that instead.

Watch List:

Test Drive: Unlimited for the PlayStation 3. I haven't heard much about this game, or even seen a trailer. But if it's any good, I may give it a go whenever it releases.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 for the PlayStation 3. I've seen an X-Play review of the first Force Unleashed, and the score was pretty bad. But they probably improved on the second instalment. So if it fetches better reviews, I may end up getting it.

Past:
Gran Turismo 2: The simulation mode disc that I have is scratched beyond playability.
GTAIV Episodes: for PS3. Will most likely get them on disc after I finish the original GTAIV
F1 Challenge '99-'02: for PC: From what I've heard it is one of the best F1 games available. Also has plenty of mods if I end up getting bored with the original cars.

Future
Gran Turismo 5 Collectors Edition: Well, I have waited 5 years for this, so I might as well get the collectors edition. As well as this it has some very good bonuses such as a Kyosho model car and a 300 page booklet.
F1 2010: I have always liked Formula One games, and this years game looks quite good. However I am worried that it could be a bit too 'arcadey'.
Test Drive Unlimited 2: The first TDU was good (especially on PC), and the second looks even better with off-roading, another island and a great selection of cars.
NFS Hot Pursuit 3: After playing Shift, I promised myself I would not buy another NFS. I was wrong, as the Hot Pursuit series is easily my favourite NFS series. Hopefully they will have the option to change the controls to X to accelerate and Square to brake as recent driving games published by EA haven't had this.

Watch list
WRC: As a fan of the WRC I should be buying this straight away. The only problem is that there are so many driving games coming out at the end of this year and that GT5 has WRC cars included.
Driver 5: If it wasn't for that coma-shift feature it would be on the must buy list
Twisted Metal: The PS3 really needs a good car combat/demolition derby game and hopefully this will deliver.
ModNation Racers: I will probably buy this when the price drops a bit because I am not a huge fan of Kart games and mainly want it for the track creator feature.

Well I already have GT1-5rologue so I really have nothing that I want from the past except for Rock'N'Roll Racing for the SNES. If I come across that game and if I have the money then it would be an instantaneous buy since it's a ton of fun(not to mention real rock'n'roll music which is pretty rare for a SNES game).

Though what I will be on my future buy list is of course GT5 and once I can slap some money together I will be pre-ordering it. Another game I would be buying is LittleBigPlanet2 and that's it.

What's on my watch list is a good cheap steering wheel and of course a good wheel stand(I may have a friend of mine to make a cheap stand for me since he's a welder.).
