Game Freezes during race launch - Counts as race entry and 20th place?

My FIA Manufacturer's race froze as it transitioned from qualifying to the race line-up. I had to restart the PS4.

When I've rebooted it I tried to enter the race again and got a "network error" alert. Backed out and completed the Nation's cup race. Went back to the manufacturer's race and it wouldn't let me enter. Check Kudos and the race results and it's given me an automatic 20th place for the race i.e. the same as if I'd quit mid-race. WTF is this about? It's an error at their end, not mine? My PS4 didn't disconnect and was working fine.

It did something screwy to me too. After qualifying at the bottom of the chat box it said "race canceled". Then it came up "lost connection due to data loss". I know it wasn't anything on my end. But, I couldn't enter the next race.

As for the next available race, we can't enter as the game doesn't distinguish why we left the race we were in, and as you can only enter one race per night, we were done as far as the game is concerned. Guilty of entering and leaving. Case closed.

I've had the Race Cancelled message pop up like this a couple of times, but the race has always started.

I was really looking forward to that race too. I got some good practice in and a pretty good spot on the grid. I ended up running Interlagos, knowing I shouldn't. I didn't practice and just joined. We both spun in turn 1 . I had a horrible race though. Finally started re-gaining some spots and got punted in turn 4. I should have just skipped it, oh well.

@ColinNZ that's the first time it has happened to me. As you can see in @Baron Blitz Red 's video, it just kicked us out. I thought maybe I was the only one. Glad it wasn't just me.

Interlagos is a track that either works well for me or is disastrous... last night it was the latter. After my first spin, I started to make ground fairly quickly, just to get caught up in the carnage that some Yahoo in a VanHalen liveried Porsche was causing. Got away from that mess, only to spin out again on the second to last lap!!!

You said it best... I should have just skipped it!

My game frozen 2 times on the last 4 days as well, one of them on the 24 superstars race when i was 3rd.

It happened right in the first lap both times. It's kind of a new crash, before would just crash when loading the room or the qualifying.

Really really frustrating.
