On reading several threads and their replies.. it seems that most GT enthusiasts use gamesharking, and other cheating ways to get what and to where they want. I'm sorry to say that it really P*sses me off to think that people can't be arsed even trying. Mixing car parts to make cars just so unrealistic.. its killing the GT spirit !!!

Who else has this view... ??? what do you think about shark codes ???

reply quick cuz im annoyed, lol.

I disagree with using a GameShark to pass GT2 (or any game) initially, but once you've passed the game, or bored with it, then I think it's alright. I also do not encourage the use of a GS during any open competition or online-racing.

I use the GS to make the game tougher; more powerful AI cars, AI cars that actually out brake you into turns is what's nice about having one. When you've played the game for over 2 years, you need to spice it up somehow. But if you haven't sampled at least 3/4 of the 600 cars in the game, then hybrid-making is rather silly.

Frankly, I don't think making an Spoon Integra into a mid-engined coupe is kills the GT spirit, it enhances it. FF gets dull after a while. I make a few hybrdis out of dull cars, not cars that don't need any enhancements.

When I first started playing, I really wanted to use cheats to win, but I really just started playing more and more. I went from 5% to where I'm now, 55%.

Well then, if you're so concerned about ruining the "GT Spirit", then why bother using the race cars? Why bother using any of the cars at all except for the few that are strictly GT cars?

Anyway...There's nothing unrealistic about a Hemi Cuda. There's nothing unrealistic about a BMW M5. There's nothing unrealistic about a Camaro ZL1 or Corvette Z06, all of which (and pretty much any other car in the world as long as there's a similar car body in the game) can be made using a gameshark. Yes, you can use a gameshark to actually make REALISTIC CARS!!! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF THAT?!?!?!?! *gasp*

Does the world of hybrids seem so big that your mind is having trouble comprehending everything that can be done? Does it scare you that people are making real cars that aren't in the game? Do you like your little cookie cutter Skylines? Or is your favorite the Escudo?

If you're gonna flame, at least know a little bit about what you're talking about before you hit that Post button, ok?

lol, that makes me laugh, really it does. You obviously have no idea what the hell you are on about. lol. Gamesharking is really just a cheating way to get ahead in the game, no matter what cars you get or create or modify. Defies the whole point in the designers actually creting the game at all. Y dont u but that new game i cant remember its na,e the one where u can design ur own cars.

Hey skynyrd, this joker knows Thinks he knows all aout everything. He aint got no room to talk, he says he never tried a gameshark but he still knmocks it, He makes me laugh too.

What if they don't want to buy that new game, the one where you can design your own cars?

Why can't people cheat on a computer game if they want to?
It's just a form of entertainment which is for fun, so if someone isn't too good at the game they can have a helping hand.

Also I know Pupik and Skynrd have probably finished GT2 without cheating and probably multiple times and maybe they don't want to buy the latest games. So hybriding makes sense after you have basically done everything you possibly can with the game without cheating and it is fun to do make realistic hybrids. Also if we didn't have these so called cheaters we wouldnt be able to drive the, CLK Race car, the Shelby GT500 KR and even the VW Polo! also in GT3 you wouldn't know about the Diablo, Stratos, Porche 911 GT3, Skyline GTR M-Spec. There are even hidden cars in GTConcept that you would have to cheat to get out.

And yes I have finished every GT series game without using any cheats or tricks. But I still have used cheats after I have finished the game just to get a little more entertainment out of it, or to see what it is like to drive the Diablo arount autumn ring.

Use gameshark for finishing a coooooool game like gt2 - never.
Use gameshark for increasing the game´s dificultity - yes.
Use gameshark for hybrid making - not really.
What do I think about people using gameshark for making hybrids or get easy money cars etc. ?? ........... I don´t really care do as you like but for those who speed up the process of ending the game don´t come braging about it or if you do.... don´t tell it was with the gameshark cause that will make you look ......stupid.

Well, I had a rather large post halfway typed out, but thought just screw it and did this one instead.

To Supra4eva: Why don't you work on your typing skills a little, ok? I suggest The Idiots Guide to Getting a Clue. Just a suggestion ;)

Anyway, have you ever used a gameshark? Chances are if you have, you've only used it to get infinite life or something stupid like that. Maybe if you'd open your eyes juuuuuuuuuuuuuust a little, you might see that there's more to gaming than that little perfect, safe, unchanging, dull little box you've got yourself crammed into.

And while I admit I'm not anywhere near the best GT driver, chances are you suck just as much, if not more than, me. If you want to test just how good you are, I suggest making yourself a mid engined FF car and see how long you can drive it before you spin. Or you could always go with the 5,000 hp/no downforce option and see how good you are then. Only the real losers build hybrids just to "beat the game". I reached what amounts to 100% a long time ago. Had every car in the game at one time or another, and got to the point where the game got so boring that I couldn't stand the thought of it, what with all the great cars they should've included instead of others (2xx hp 'cuda? puh-lease, I want a hemi!, same deal goes with the Charger/Challenger/Camaro/Cougar/etc...). Then I found out about hybrids, and suddenly I could have all those cars I couldn't have before. Gave the game a second chance, and saved it from a spot on a dusty shelf next to Ridge Racer 4, Triple Play Baseball, and an 8 track tape.

Oh, and might I add, what is the "na,e" of this new game that was "creted" where "u" can design "ur" own cars? Sounds interesting. Might want to type the name slowly though, it would be nice to be able to understand what you're trying to say...

;)

p.s.: Hey crb, it's been awhile :)

Huum... take it easy man
Anyhow, mid-engined ff ? That sounds... twitchy. Are they really crazy to control ? If you can come up with something "worse" than a speed 12 or a cobra i´d be amazed

S'ok, just letting out a little steam, it's been a rough week :embarrassed:

Oh yeah, VERY twitchy :D

You've never lived until you've experienced a 600+ hp mid engine FF car, lol.

At least they're easy to drift with, as long as you've got really good tires you probably won't spin out unless you're completely clueless about drifting. Once in a while, certain ones will turn amazing lap times on certain tracks (Mostly tracks like Seattle with lots of tight turns and stuff). After all, almost all of them can turn on a dime without losing much speed at all.

Simply put, GT2 left almost all the possible ingredients for creating any car via hybrids. Although hybrids are no longer my favorite thing to mess with, it's rather fun (and sometimes frustrating) concocting your own car from scratch.

Like I said before, no game should be completed with a GameShark, but no game should ever get left on a shelf without trying one first. There's a reason for the wealth of codes avaialble for the GT-series of games; they've found a home in many game players' hearts.

I started playing GT2 in April of 2000. After about a year, I felt bored with it (pssed it long before), and thought I'd see if there were any tricks or codes or hints to improve the game play. I figured the game had another month or two of fun left in it.

No way. I'd found numerous resources on the net about GT2, and I've rarely changed games since. That should tell you something.

Imagine playing any game without consulting a forum first! The nerve of those people!

It happened to me too. The first time a friend of mine showed me a faq I was shocked for a while: all those car that weren´t ours and we never even thought them to be there. When I got my hands on a copy and the net I started buildind my dream garage and not till recently have I finished it by replacing some cars with the 22b, gt-r ´71, 360, 240 z ´71, 2000gt all jewels I heard of in the forums. I reached gtplanet trough a link for the bonus cars for gt2. For a while I checked it to see what was still missing till one day the "forum" part caught my eye. A click just to see what was it all about and suddently I find myself in the middle of top speed cars and settings. First I was just readind posts till I red something... arguable. The sign up was simple enough and then...

Well said! I have not got a gameshark, but i only want to create hybrids to make the slow cars a little faster: I suggest people shoudl plan hybrids before you make them or ven get a GS!!
The hybrids i intend 2 make are:
TRD Prius GTV: 4wd Mustang-powered Prius
360 WRX Sti Ver.II: Subbie 360 with IMpreza engine and drivetrain
Castrol Move GT '98: race-prepped 1998m Move SRXX with castrol supra engine and drivetrain from Unisia jecs skyline

PS Can you change names to made up onse, or just swap names from other cars?

Check the GameShark Forum (probably the search feature, because it's all old stuff anyhow) for that kind of stuff.

In sort, it's possible to change the Garage Name, but you have to use one of the 600+/- car names already coded onto the disk.

The title above the car's name in the Garage can be changed with a simple body code change, but can't have a Pleo RS title above the body of a Castrol Supra.

You can change the screen name of the car to anything you want (replay and results name), but it won't save to the memory card, unlike the Garage and Title name.

Thanls very much 4 your advice. I was trying to chanmge the title on the replays and rankings, i knbew you couldnt change the logo that appears above cars in the garage, like you did with the Accord Type RG - does it say "Replay - Accord Type-RG"?
