im not sure if i can make it on them times, as it conflicts with another race series i do. but i will let you know 100% in a couple of days...

Might make it after 10pm gmt.
The misses is a Gleek and has tv rights till then.
Post the number and should be there soon after.

What up, i should be on again tonight and opening a lobby up to do some tire simulations to determine pit strategy :P. But after ive got a rough idea, we shall do some racing.
If the first couple of races are clean, i think we should reduce the penalty system.

I may join you later.

Was thinking the opposite on the penalties. Maybe start with no penalties and add them if it there is too much rule breaking.

Yes - you can always tell by the reply if a person was cheating or not...
And if theres too many cheaters add penalties...

For example you have a very close race and in the middle of the action you bump into each other and one of you cuts through the grass because he was bumped and he gets a penalty ruining a perfectly good and fair (maybe a bit ruff) fight...

You do have to expect a bit of bump here and there with DTM, the cars are so big. Its not like we are racing F1 cars. I'd be happy to race with no penalties on and stick them on if there is rule breakers. But if someone if being persistent just prevent them from entering the series again?

I have to say between myself and a few racers that I have been racing against, bumping and grinding is unavoidable...Its a DTM series, thats what they do. Its known to have a lot of contact through the turns, i.e. holding your inside line even if that means you will bump a litlle bit with someone. As I see it as long as your're not using a racer as a brake from 130 mph to 60 mph for a turn, the bumping aspect is quite legal. I have to admit a few times I have just bumped into racers that are infront of me (in a draft for example) if they are going slower just to let them know im on their tail and hopefully that will apply a little pressure and force them into a mistake.

Its great fun, just ask Jav, imolared or a few other racers about this. This is how to properly drive DTM cars.

I have to disagree.
This is not Nascar. We can't bump other cars to show them we want to pass. We need to keep close to them, so we can either put pressure on them and led them into a mistake, or keep close and use the amplified draft of GT5 to overtake them on a straight or braking into a corner.
If we start to bump eachothers thinking thats normal, we should change the series name to Destruction Derby, or Burnout, because thats not racing.

Just my thought. I'm looking for some clean and fair races. I know mistakes will happen, but we can't take that lightly.

All touring cars championships always have contact, in the BTCC you always guaranteed contact between racers due to the size of the cars. As long as it's not excessive/miscellanous, contact should be allowed. Its going to happen when the cars are evenly matched, that you may have to force a move to get past, as these arn't the easiest cars to overtake in.

Also im thinking of putting together a british touring car championship if anyone wants to participate (got to get list of cars in BTCC, and rules and regs with weights etc)

It would be great, if we had the cars from GT2. I remember you could buy the road cars, and then race modified them into a BTCC car. We had the lineup from Toca touring car 2.

I have to agree to disagree. :) I am by no means a dirty racer, far from it actually. I respect people that can race clean and well, it really makes GT 5 a unique experience.
On the other hand, DTM racing (well almost all touring car racing) is chock-full of bumper to bumper action. Like I stated earlier, I will not intentionally bump or push other racers out of the in order to gain a position. I race DTM cars a lot differently than street cars or even other race cars in GT 5.

I will hold my inside line no matter what, if someone else hits me I’m going to drive through it. If a racer clips a wall coming out of a corner and I’m going about the same speed but a little quicker, depending on what position I’m in and other circumstances I will give the other driver a “love tap”. Prime example is at 2:18 sec on the first video. The taps usually aren’t enough that it will result in the driver losing control. This is one of my methods of applying pressure to other racers, I am letting them know that I was faster but chose to stay behind them.

Again, I don’t condone driving dirty, and I know that GT 5 physics aren’t the same as real life but I am driving this series the way these cars are meant to be driven. I am an aggressive driver when I need to be but I still drive religiously with online etiquette. The cars are so evenly matched that bumping and grinding will be inevitable.

I know these vids have probably been posted to this forum before but I am displaying them for arguments sake….They also kick butt and really display the points I made earlier. When I think DTM, this is what I picture whether it’s a real race or in the realm of GT 5. These vids capture the true skill involved with racing DTMs and I probably watch them at least 2-3 times a month :)

I will be hosting a practice lobby tonight, this will probably be the last shakedown before the race. I will be testing tire compound strategies and pit strategies. All are welcome.

I will post the room number in half an hour or so and will be probably racing all night.
