Gear box question.

Before I spend a load of hard earned credits to be most likely disappointed. Is there a way to get more gears for a 4 speed gear box? I really want to tune on these old 70's American V8's but the 4 speed I would think is pretty limiting.

I am pretty certain that a transmission upgrade adds a 5th gear but I could be wrong

Sure enough, I upgraded the 69 vette to adjustable manual and got another gear. Thanks Alfa.
