Much like RUF, Gemballa unveils their 30th anniversary model.

Behold, the Avalanche:

800+ HP, 991 Turbo base.

Not really a fan of the rear spoiler though.

What are they venting from the storage compartment? Do they assume owners will be transporting large amounts of stinky cheese?

Gemballa is still around?

Yep, after Uwe Gemballa died, it was reopened and in fact joined the FIA GT3 championship with a McLaren 12C GT3.

And then they started to offer tuning kits for the 997 and McLaren 12C models as well.

The only thing I like about it is the purple color on it.
Not sure what is worse the shaker style hood scoop or

the fin thing on the back

If I was rich I would buy it.

It's stupid, reminds me of NFS Underground and that whole silly street racer/ricer thing that everyone was into back when 2F2F came out.

I love pimping purple and am sad that you can't really get colors like that on cheaper cars. Minus the Mirage.

Not as fun as the original.

I guess since the current nose is already sloped, takes the uniqueness away from it being a special 911.

The rear of that is a lot more unique and therefore tolerable than the collection of details seen elsewhere fitted to the new one.

This is going to be such a controversial post, but if you replace the front bumper and hood with the ones from the GT3, then this would look better and I'd have one. In exactly that purple!

I actually don't hate it. The Porsche world accepts all sorts - and I'm quite happy there's a space for mental options like this alongside the factory racers, tasteful restos and ultra-exclusive Ruf-style interpretations.
