General Bug/Glitch thread

I recently got an odd error. Not sure if anyone else is having this issue... For some reason today, when I pop GT5 in my PS3 to play, I cannot use any buttons on my controller. It's odd. It'll let me continue after cycling back and forth from the XMB menu, but everything else doesn't work. I've tried with my trusty dual shock and my DFGT... Anyone else encounter this?

I've had that happen when the wheel is set to controller 1 and the DS is set to 2. Dualshock doesn't really work in GT except the PS button. As long as DS is flagged as controller 1, you should be fine - the wheel works np as controller 2. I've got an old DFP wheel and it doesn't have a PS button, so I need the DS to exit or hit the XMB...

When I was online yesterday in a private lounge at SSR7 (change weather) it definitely started snowing. I didn't know it could snow there? It was very heavy too, and I was in my Kubelwagen at the time. Very odd.

Anyone noticed the distance markers in Monza are made of concrete? Hit one and see for yourself!:ouch: That can't be right.

Didnt read all bugs, but here's one - when I was playing rally (in challenges section) in the begining of the race (almost half of them) cars started to slide and make weird manovers, sometimes car pointed in a strange direction, it was weird since GT5 have WRC license and dont have EVEN ONE, normal rally race.. Short races, 4 cars challange :( for info I completed all of the rally races im level 26.. still too short for me.. :( bit disapointed.. but the driving physics is awesome!

I've been playing the game since the day it has been released and for the first ever the game has crashed / messed up, not just, not just twice but five times today. Twice it has gotten stuck on that GT logo loading screen and I've had to quit the game, and three times it's gotten to a menu but I've not been able to navigate it because the little arrow icon hasn't appeared, even after minutes of waiting.

I'm not sure if it's because of my new DFGT wheel or just a general glitch but has it affected anyone else?

I'm having exactly the same problem, i'm not using a wheel. This has only happened since the latest patch, and it's happening a lot!!

The last missing sector bug still happens even when scrolling to the last of multiple sector numbers.
I'll also add that you can't see tyre indicators while in live timing screen. And i don't like the use of pointless zeros in the timing lists. Why say +01.912 when it should be +1.912. Fussy i know. But GT5 was 05 years in the making.

Because the stopwatch in GT5 is based on digital stopwatch that measures seconds to the thousandth of a second- the minimum being 00.000 and the maximum 99.999. On a stopwatch all the six numbers are present- the one counting seconds(00.) and thousandth of a second (.000) as well as the (+) and the (-) symbols. The simples explanation I can come up with is that if we were to use your preference (as to how the stopwatch should be displayed), there will be a constant shifting of all the numbers between the decimal point as well as the symbols.

Does PD have an official page somewhere that shows what has been fixed in each patch, or a place to submit or view bug reports?

Just curious.

As for my contribution to the subject, on the back stretch of Tsukuba (I think) during a rain race, the mist coming off the car in front of me turned black. It happened in the same spot on 2 or 3 different laps. I'll try to find the exact spot an update this post when I can.

When driving my premium Elise in the wet, look back when in cockpit mode to see the interior flooding with water.

Wet tires don't work on a gt40 69 model.

If you put a rear wing on a Audi R8 5.2 Quattro '09,
And you go to your garage and look at it, the wing
will be off the car and hovering in the air!

2 bugs i found:

The Alfa Romeo LZ... ('65)

in cockpitview, the driver alternates between 2 different shift animations. Every next ger he needs to up- or downshift he's either right or shifting somewhere close to the middle on the dash and pulls on something invisible.
Looks like they manages to get another shift animation in there. He should only use the low animation.

i've found that in all premiums to driver will never to the change gear action with the change of gear. If you click to change gear the gear will change straight away, but if the hand of the driver is on the wheel he will move his hand before changing gear thus the gear will change before driver physically changes.

Its only really noticable on replays (and weirdly in B-spec) but its a bit silly
really

They really need to fix this game freeze crap. I just finished ANOTHER 4 hour race only to have the game to keep running laps. I have to hit the PS3 button to quit the game, then the game won't load properly until I eject the game, power down the system, restart, insert disk, wait for the disk to show up as corrupt data, shut down, restart the system then restart the game...

Pathetic.

Hello Chaps,

I'm just searching for the FGT and keep having problems with the game hanging when coming out of the license section to my home.

Anyone else having a similar issue and know a work around?

Cheers

EDIT: It is now happening every time I come out of the license section to my home.

Had this weird issue where my car, and sometimes the AIs' cars, would start to slide to the side or forward when waiting to start our runs.

This occurred during the gravel rally, intermediate level.
Yep, I had that too, as well as cars at the start piled on top of each other, AND the inability to finish a race because the finish line did not register.

Had an odd one this morning, I've been hammering my R10 stealth in GT Allstars and checked the price of an engine rebuild and body restore, they were both in the few 100K region (can't remember exactly), I left it as it seemed ok, then in the first "like the wind race" it just started to handle oddly. Popped back to the auto shop and both the engine and body refurb's were only 500cr each.

Hey guys, I couldn't find anything about it but, at least in the American version when looking in the used car lot the 1954 Corvette has the description of the Chevrolet SST. I can look over alot of things because this game is fun, but come on thats almost as bad as my spelling and grammar............Well I just found that someone also saw this....I apologize, and will now go back to my grind.

Two bugs I found yesterday,

-Purchased the Subaru IMPREZA Sedan WRX STI '10 went to tuning shop purchased dirt tires first & installed them. Went ahead and purchased snow & sport medium tires but didn't install. Went to the practice courses, initially was going to go to a dirt track first, but decided to go to a Chamonix Main(snow), was prompted with a error saying I need snow tires which I already had. Exited & went back to tuning in my garage where I found both the snow tires & sport medium missing. Went back to the tuning shop & re-purchased them & then went back to my garage where they were still missing. Changed my tires to sports-hard, then went to the tuning shop again & re-purchased the snow & sports medium (all along the game kept deducting credits), this time I found the tires in my garage tuning.

Edit: Thanks AC13_JohnG, found the parts in the Items List.

-Created a courses in the course maker Tuscany (Tarmac) set the time of day to 19:00 entered the race with the Subaru CUSCO DUNLOP SUBARU IMPREZA (SUPER GT) '08 (Premium). I couldn't turn on the cars headlight on.. Found out by watching the replay that all standard cars had there headlights on & all premiums had them off, a bit strange.

Your missing tires are probably in the item sub menu waiting to be installed.

I've just found a bug with the '07 Subaru Impreza Hatchback. The gearstick doesn't work, the driver puts his hand on it but it doesn't move. It's not noticeable in gameplay but it is easily noticeable in in-car view in Replay's.

People keep saying this, but I've lost tuning items into the void a few times as well.

I had missed this one too. The missing parts can be found in the Item List (same place as horns & paint), it's the icon to the left of the garage icon.

Yep, another illogical decision by PD... I haven't lost anything in Forza 3 yet, but I lost plenty in GT5.

I have the same ****ing problem! It is realy frustrating to get the FGT without freezes, now that the game is freezing all the time i'm getting:scared:

go to the top gear test track in lounge with another player online or in 2p battle (works best) and one person get in a go kart and the other in a REALLY FAST CAR(Veyron tuned works best). have the go kart drive in reverse and park in-front of empty an space between the barrier on the second to last corner. have the Veyron go to the other side of the track, turn around go as fast as possible and smash into the go kart. the go kart will either 1) do nothing (try again) 2) get stuck and get glitchy between barriers 3) go on the other side of the barrier. if you are successful and get to the other side, you are free to roam were ever you please!!!

This is different from the other stuff in this thread, but may belong here? I'll let you guys decide.

Chevrolet Corvette (C1) '54 appeared in my used lot so I looked it. The writeup on it seemed really bizarre until I realized it was actually the Silverado SST writeup. Backed out and reselected to see if it was a freak glitch and it displayed every time.

THANK YOU I KNOW RITE! I was actually waiting for somebody to post that one... thanks man!

I've had a few of those "hangings" but the page loaded as soon as I sign off PSN. Try doing that - assuming you are sign in when it happens...

I just noticed something weird. When you to a practice event on a track, rather than save your best lap of a given session to the records list (as done in GT2, GT3, GT4 and GT:HD), the game saves every single lap you do to the leaderboard instead. Which, when combined with how you can no longer individually remove records from the list, basically makes any effort to compare cars or settings completely useless.

I think this is new...

I was test driving the Acura Dualnote in Grand Valley and decided to hoon it a bit to see how the traction worked on the front wheels.

Sudenly my G25 steered all the way left almost snapping a thumb off in the process and the screen went black. The car stopped, oil light went on and I was stuck there.

At first I thought the game had crashed, but then I saw I could hit Start and the wheel went back to the center. So I continued and started pressing buttons and all worked... I just could not move the car, the screen was black (HUD only), no sound and the wheel went all left again. I could shift, brake, accelerate, hand brake and see the HUD displaying my input. But that was it.

I restarted it and after a while I could repeat it. And a 3rd time (saved replay).

It always happened near the pit exit, and I didn't try with other cars, or this car in other tracks.

Very odd...
