I think the Lexus ISF Concept is the only car you can buy to compete in the German Touring Car event. Great car that will make you win the races with no upgrades.

Its a very fast car with loads of traction but it handles like no other car I driven. The only tune I did was to apply max downforce and crank up rear breaks to an 8.

What is strange with this car. In a long corner, it takes a tighter line under acceleration/breaking than when coasting. Normaly when feathering the throttle in a long corner the car takes a tighter line when coasting and pushes out on light throttle. This car does the opposite.

You can drive this car extremely fast by smoothly applying throttle way earlier in the corner (well before you se the exit) than you can in any other car, but you really have to know the track. In one of the S-curves you can go full throttle throughout and the car goes like a slot car. Never been able to do this on any other car. Not even close.

Even if you can drive it fast, does anyone know how to tune away this behavoir. I've been trying to some success by increasing front toeout and decreasing LSD pre-load, but it doesn't seem to be the right way.

Btw, you easily win all races with the car without any performance upgrades, but I think it has a much higher potential.

I guess you should lower the downforce, the faster you get the more downforce you should have if this is simulated by GT5 (it is from my experience so far ^^).

If you accelerate in a smooth long corner you probably reach such a high downforce it makes the car steer better than on lower speed. I noticed this on "Cape Ring" alot but with other cars too which have strong downforce on both wings.

Put maximum horsepower into it and you`ll get rid of this problem ;o)

Seems odd that this "problem" should go away by reducing downforce. When feathering the throttle on a long corner the speed doesn't change a lot so the downforce should stay fairly similar.

But I agree with your second point. This chassi can take much more power than stock. I didn't want to do it so far as the car performs so well against the other German Touring Cars without it, so if adding upgrades, I'm not sure which car to race it against.

I got the CLK '00 touring car from the used market. It turned up there the moment I hit level 22, which I don't think was a coincidence. I stuck a turbo and a stage 3 engine tune on it and everything else was already done. I smoked the races.

It cost 1, 250, 000 CR, or thereabouts.

I also love the car!

I love the IS F Concept! Gorgeous car. I would also like the CLK Touring car but I ain't paying over 1,000,000 credits for a standard car that I can't drive my best in (no cockpit). As a matter of fact, I avoid all standards like the plague for this very reason. I'm sure I'm missing out on some real gems but I'm just faster and I also just have more fun in cockpit view.

The R8LMS shouldn't be near what DTM cars are, if that's what you're racing against. In real life, the R8LMS isn't close to the lap times the DTM cars put in. Nowhere near it. The DTM cars are faster than FIA GT1 cars around the track, and almost as fast as SuperGT. The only cars faster are LMP cars and F1 cars. So the ISF concept is pretty much a concept car for DTM. I guess these races are just touring cars? If so it's not even fun to get these high powered race cars and cream the competition. I like a challenge, beating them in a less powerful car that handles well just makes the icing on the cake taste that much sweeter.

My favorite DTM car is the Alpha Romeo featured in the Xbox 360 exclusive "Race Pro", released a couple of years ago. Speaking of Race Pro, anyone ever played it? It was SimBin's last console effort and besides same bland graphics, was a pretty sweet game. It nailed the whole race weekend aspect not ever seen before in console sim racers. Ya know, practice, qualify, practice, race. Or something similar to that.

Bought the Lexus IS F car, it works fine on the German touring cars in b spec.

Bought it after i had read this post!

tnx

Concept it says it in the name you can find it in the Dealership it's a premium car. I haven't come across it in the Used car dealership yet and it's cheaper than any of the cars you can get used in the race even after upgrades.

So in effect, what you're saying is that your car grips better under acceleration through bends than when coasting (off throttle)?

I don't see how that would hinder the car's performance, but anyhow its likely to be the LSD setting, try lower the acceleration sensitivity or the initial torque - lowering these settings allow the inside and outside wheels to turn more freely from the other thus improving turn-in and mid-turn.

Anyhow, I don't foresee any necessary changes at this moment because its performance is really mind boggling.

Cheers

Yeah the R8 is a GT car, depending on horsepower it'll probably qualify for either GT2 or 1. A LMP2 class car can easily outpace even the fastest GT 1 car, needless to say a LMP1 car will have disappeared by the second turn on Circuit de la Sarthe leaving every other car in its wake.

I liked the car did not love it, my b spec guys suck with it tho lol. Won the championship easy for myself have yet to go back and try bobbing it tho on my to do list yet.

Weight is a key issue. GT1 cars weigh 2700lbs. LMP2 cars weigh 1800-1900lbs. GT1 cars have 600hp, LMP2 has around 500 (450 this next year). It's like the Lotus race modded elise in GT5, it has such low weight that it's handling and cornering outshine almost every car.

Used a BMW M3 GTR '03 with some upgrades - not everything!

If i don't remember wrong i've given it 502 bhp and with soft tyres the race is way to easy - so i would adjust the tyres for less grip to give some more action.

Got it from the used dealership - awesome car to drive.

I got fed up waiting for a car for this event so when the Calibra V6 DTM car turned up I bought it 1.5 million :yuck: It has 4 wheel drive and I tuned it up too 511 BHP and although at first I hated the fact I had to spend so dam much....I totally love this car It's stunning to drive and won me the A-spec and B-spec German touring car events with some great battles....I used medium grip racing tyres I reckon the soft racing tyres would be over kill on this car 👍

I'm currently working on a tune for this car and I should have it mostly done by the weekend. It definitely has some potential but out of the box it isn't great by any means. It's fairly slow to turn in and then just kinda lugs it's way around apex and then will sorta tuck in on corner exit.

Right know I'm testing the car on the nordschlieffe and the nurburgring D course. The car seems close on the setup but I've got it too low because it seems to be bottoming on the green hell.

I'll keep you guys update as to where it's going so far but a decent start is.

height -2/-2
Loosen up a bit on the springs
Drop a bar setting in front
-1.8 front camber - -1.0 rear
.1 toe in in back

I still need to do some more work with the diff settings... the diff makes the car far too tight so i'm working on that. 👍

I bought this car today and this is what I did to the car. I got all golds today

added Stage 3 engine tune
Downforce 28-45
ride height
-3 -3
Springs 11.5-1300
Dampers 6-6
compression 6-6
anti roll 3-4
Aadded racing soft tires.

Still needs some work but a sweet car.

I have this car and it goes through it's tires too fast on b-spec, I end up losing races with it because I have to pit in. What's the best way to reduce tire wear? Decrease rear downforce, reduce hp, fiddle with acceleration?

The nice thing about this car is that it is the only car that can be used for both the German Touring events and the Super GT events.

Exactly! I recommend it for anyone who is new to LVL 23. I tuned it and smoked both series. Yeah it was too easy, but the car is so much fun to drive and it sounds phenomenal. It looks dangerous and really sticks out in black but I'm still so tempted to paint it. Awesome car.
