I've been having difficulty getting the Remote Race web site to update with new friends. The consensus on here was that the web site was a few hours behind reality, but when I had friends for more than 24hrs who still hadn't showed up, I started doing some experimentation.
Logging into the US site (I normally use the EU site) pulled a few friends in, but then when more joined me, they didn't show up on the US site. Going back to the EU site showed only the original 15 friends.
The trick to this isn't to wait (as some have suggested) or to sign the PS3 out of PSN and back in again (as others have suggested).
The trick is to log out of the website. It logs you in each visit using a cookie, and it's really fast at picking up updates on your Bob status. But it never re-reads your friends list. To get it to do that, you have to log off the website, then log in again. When you do that, you'll see your updated friends list.
