The Honda Accord was introduced in the mid 70's as the model situated above the Civic. Originally planned as a competitor to the Mustang, Honda changed their mind and continued with the idea of efficiency and front-wheel-drive. Being in production for exactly 40 years now, the Accord has been through 8 generations and is currently in its 9th. Which of these economical family cars is your favorite? (US versions are shown here, but if there's a non-US version of a generation that you prefer, you may vote for that generation).

I had to go with the 4th gen Accord, I love the boxy styling with the slightly rounded corners, and it had one of the best looking wagon versions that I've seen.

Despite the fact that they are very innovative, for me, the issue with Accords, especially 21st century ones, is that they look like any other sedan on the market. It's not hard to confuse one with an Optima, a Camry or even an Altima. That's one of the major pitfalls of mid-sized cars today; nothing really distinctive in that segment of the market.

That aside, I voted 3rd gen. The Aerodeck, like @Wiegert mentioned, is an obscure, but neat car. Also, the coupes look pretty similar to Preludes (which I like).

I'm partial to the CD5 (5th Gen) as I used to have a manual one of those before SIC EM, however my vote goes to the 8th Gen Euro (CU2). Had the best blend of style, quality and a bit of i-VTEC charm in my opinion (even though the K24 isn't particularly efficient). And again, a Honda manual is the best manual.

The 5th generation, although Japan and USA models only. The 7th generation if only European models are considered.

Speaking of wagon models, 5th NTSC generation had a good one (below). I would often consider buying the wagon instead of the estate in GT2, that is how good it looked.

Didn't realise the US one was so naff looking compared to the European cars.
