The Dodge Charger was created to compete in the specialty car market at the time, and was initially created as a fastback to compete with the other fastback models coming out at the time (Mustang, Rambler Marlin, Barracuda). The Charger was initially based on the Coronet platform (B-body), and shared some styling cues. Later generations moved off into their own look, along with a change to FWD in the 80's, and 4 doors in the early 2000s. There have been 7 generations to date, so which of these charging bruisers is your favorite?

This could be a hard decision considering the new Charger Hellcat, but I still prefer the 2nd generation since it was a 2 door model, with available manual transmission and wild colors.

Easily the 2nd gen. I didn't even know about the 1st, 3rd, 4th or even 5th generation Chargers. I can't believe that grandma-mobile 4th gen is even a Charger at all.

While I love the 2nd gen, I actually prefer the 7th Gen model. Performance wise it's miles better than the 2nd gen and I think it looks a little better as well, especially SRT models, plus it's way more practical.

Why do we even have a choice? We all know that the second generation is the best Charger because it's "The Charger"

As much as I love the 2nd gen, I have come to love the 3rd gen about as much. Went with 3rd gen since almost everyone is picking the 2nd gen.

Though I undoubtedly love the malaise era special that is the 1975 Dodge Charger Daytona, my vote goes to the second generation Charger.

The second generation Charger is so badass, it's been in multiple movies and TV shows even years after it's production...

Can I just ask, was the 5th Gen someone's idea of a sick joke? I never knew that car even existed, and it certainly doesn't look like the kind of car that I would give the Charger name to.

Settled for 2nd Gen myself.

I'd take a 5th gen over a 4th gen myself. They're both terrible, but the 5th gen is comically terrible whereas the 4th gen is just sad.

Guilty of enjoying the 6th one, 2nd gen is legendary but if I to be honest, Dodge did a good number on the 7th generation. Damn. I have to go with that.

Fourth gen is terrible but at least you can drop a big V8 from whatever you'd like in one to have one hell of a sleeper...
