Ghosting/Blurring with new monitor

I've set up my BenQ EX3203R which is a QHD monitor. Everything looks great and is really crisp, but I notice a lot of blurring/ghosting when in motion, mainly from other cars in front of me when they move across my screen. I've attached a video and and some pictures to show it. It's worse when cars move across the screen quicker (higher class of car or are further away).

I've tried running it in 1080p@60 and upscaled 4k@60 but still get the same blurring. There's no settings in the PS4 or through the monitor which are obvious to me which I can change to try and get rid of it. Is it the fact that it's a 1440p monitor that it occurs?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Don't think your monitor is a QLED, Samsung do one. Have you tried checking the AMA setting in Picture and setting it to highest setting and also setting advanced picture mode to Gamer1?

Sorry I meant QHD. Its a EX3203R. Thanks, I'll try AMA setting. I tried the picture mode and it did nothing apart from the look of the picture.

From what I've read, you could try lowering or disable the AMA level in the OSD... It's some graphic acceleration engine.

Thanks I'll try changing the AMA setting.

@Saidur_Ali @TurboTacho the AMA is set to 'high' as default. Changing it to 'premium' which is above high didn't make a noticeable difference. Turning AMA off made it worse.

Anything else I can try?

Edit: I feel like it's slightly better with the PS4's boost mode on, but the issue is still very much there.

From what I've read, that monitor's trade off for price is the VA panel with their slow response times so if premium AMA doesn't fix or at least reduce the ghosting down to the advertised 4ms, you'll likely need to get used to it or try another monitor.

Looking at those images would have me packing the monitor up to send it back though. Shocking response time that looks 8ms+... None of the reviews I saw recommend it for competitive gaming, only casual so it's still a good looking monitor for the price. It just doesn't look PS4 friendly.

Shot in the dark here but other than playing with all the monitor settings, have you tried swapping HDMI cables? Your images definitely don't match 4ms so it might be worth a try.

Try setting RGB range to full on video output settings on PS4 and HDMI RGB PC Range RGB (0 ~ 255) on monitor, might help. Maybe better off getting a 60Hz 4K monitor instead for PlayStation. Boost mode won't do anything as it is for older games that weren't updated to take advantage of PS4 Pro.

Based on the reviews I've read, it's kind of inevitable for QLED panels...Setting AMA to the maximum level is one way to minimize the ghosting issue.

Changing cables didn't do anything. Thanks for the reply, much appreciated.

Changing both of these settings didn't change anything. Thanks though. 👍 Guess I'll just have to revert to the old TV.

I have the same problem with Samsung 55" Q7FN
Did you find a solution to the problem?:)

Thank you :)

In my case blur reduction, judder reduction or LED clear motion reduces blurring to an acceptable level.
When I use the TV to play on my computer, there is no such problem with blur reduction, judder reduction or LED clear motion set to off.

PC Settings
To enable chroma subsampling when playing from a PC, set the input icon to 'PC' under the 'Input Device Manager' submenu. This will automatically disable almost all image processing and ensure the best possible input lag. 'HDMI UHD Color' must also be enabled for the HDMI port the PC is connected to.

So, set the PS4 input to PC and that should do it?
